What is the point of this thread?
First of all, welcome to Splash Splash XXV: The Good Ol' Days! In this thread, we discuss how everything was better before when people were still caring for AoK (eh... more people). Of course, everything was better before. The Zone was friendlier, the campaigns were better, the forumers were nicer... right? Riiiiight? Anyway, we also pretend to be old geezers who complain on everything that's new, such as AoEIII and the invisible flying bananas trick. Remember that if you're an oldie, you must be even grumpier than the average forumer.

No, seriously, what is the point of this thread?
Splash Splash, first of all, began as a rebellious thread in the old Strategy Forum. It traces its origins to a thread called moooooooooooooooooooo, started by a legendary forumer by the name of cow_gone_mad. Eventually it was closed (due to an old post limit), and along came a thread called Chirp Chirp. This thread was started by a forumer named dedkrikit. Eventually this thread sunk, lacking in new posts due to the reopening of moooooooooooooooooooo. Moooooooooooooooo was unfortunately again closed, and this time for good.

Out of the darkness arose a new leader, Tonto_Simfish. He started a thread called Splash Splash. Unfortunately, this thread became corrupted on the Heavengames server. Simfish came to the rescue with Splash Splash Part II. This was the second largest thread in all of Heavengames history, topped only by the infamous Party Thread from the old Knights of the Round Table (KoRT - Now archived) forum. With the creation of the Town's Crier forum in 2003, Splash Splash Part II was moved to it's present location. With the new rule of a thread limit of 2500, Splash Splash Part II had to be closed. Splash Splash Part II had 12289 posts with its closure.

zyxomma100 then started Splash Splash III in Simfish's absence. Simfish returned for Splash Splash IV. Then came Adder's Rattle, Rattle, the quickest thread to reach the new limit. Since then we've had no less than 20 Splash Splashes, hosted by various people such as Tonto_Dave, watchwood, nav_2004 and ax_man1. Let us keep the tradition alive and never allow Splash Splash to die!

I still don't get it.
It's the Off-topic thread of AoKH were we a) talk about stuff that don't fit in any other forums and/or doesn't deserve a thread of its own, or b) spam things such as *pegs previous poster with lawngnome*, +1 and Aro sucks. If you're new to Splash Splash, the oldies reserve the right to eat you alive.
