Hello, and welcome to Viva La Siggy (AoKH's Signature Improvemnt thread). This thread for asking others opinions of your sig, improvement, picking up tips, and telling people "to make the goddam thing smaller and whispered!!!11".

So anyway;

If someone has a signature that is in your opinion "ugly", don't flame. Just tell them which colours mixes give you a headache and which fades look like flouresent cat urine, and show them how to make it better.

Basic Hints:

To fade, do this : [c=XXXXXX-XXXXXX] <text> [/c], with the XXXXXX's representing hex colour numbers. So, like in my sig, [c=000000-74ADF9] {��._.�-[b]Da Hobo[/b]-�._.��} [/c] = {¯ˆ·._.•-Da Hobo-•._.·ˆ¯}

You can find hex numbers here.

Have your name normal size, and whisper the rest of the signature. Or, whisper the entire thing. Normal-size sigs normally do not look quite as good as whispered.

A signature should never be twice as large as the message.

Never "blink" colours i.e. : Da Hobo

Try to have a point to it all, like a link to your clan or design team, to your site, or a link to a useful thread. It's all right if there's no links, as long as it's not an eye sore.

Do not just stick to the standard colours: red, blue, green, ect. Use the hex ones, as they can be almost any colour you can imagine.

To center your sig do this: [center]SIGNATURE[/center]. You'll get this:

Time for the big one:

TO PREVIEW YOUR SIGNATURE CLICK "PREVIEW SIGNATURE". IT IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE "SUBMIT" BUTTON. THIS ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR "TEST." POSTS.

How to I use BB code?
Well, it is quite simple, and most of the codes can be found here.

The codes that are not listed would be:
The Code tag:

[code][/code]

The center tag:

[center][/center]

The Color tag:

[c=(Insert color name or hexcode here)][/c]

The UBB off and on tags:

[ubboff][ubbon]

Go to My account at the top of the page.
Type password
Go to Preferences (http://aok.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/aokcgi/ubbmisc.cgi?action=edit_prefs)
On the bottem right, there should be something that says:
BBCode Assistant
Displays the toolbar which assists you with BBCode, in forums that have BBCode enabled. Also enables auto-formatting when you paste certain types of text into the post area. Option only available for Internet Explorer 4.x and higher.
Click the check mark.
Now go post something

How do I make text faded?

You can fade text by inserting this code:

I don't know hexcodes.

but since you did it yourself, I will tell what was wrong with it. It is because your attempt
to aviod being pretentious was, well, a bit pretentious...

Seriously,I like to insult my friend, keeps them from outnumbering me...

Well, what's wrong with that? If one wants to, one can. But I don't know why it's so important to indicate that it's oneselve's own quote. It looks silly. Here are just as good quotes from me that you can use:

I personally think the person with the best sig should host the next viva la siggy. As with Da Hobo, numbers have shown that he had the best sig last year.

And it's quite obvious who has the better sig
