Wayfarer: A Single Player Scenario

The sun is hot and your lips are dry. You lick them as you slowly open your eyes. A desert scene surrounds you. You do not know where you are, you do not remember how you got there.
You don't know who you are.





Wayfarer is a linear single player scenario for Age of Mythology: The Titans. You find yourself in an unknown land full of creatures, bandits and danger. Travel the sparse desert landscape, complete tasks and favours for friendly acquaintances and complete your destiny; play to find out!

This map serves as a bridging project back into designing for myself. It is quite unique in that the map dimensions are 500x50, providing for a extremely linear gameplay and storyline. You will certainly not be amazed with the amount of options and free-roaming available, but you will enjoy this map for what it is and what it has to offer. I'm sure of it!

    I love it how you take the negative aspects of the map, and put them to words in such a way we're bound to even start enjoying the negative parts of the map.

    I'm glad this project is in its last stages, and thus I'm 100% sure it's gonna be released. Good luck, it looks very interesting

    Owch, 500x50 scenario ought to be very good to be worth playing. I would expect it to be over very quickly because there is not much space on 25000 squares if you tihnk about it truthfully. This looks good though! Any chance of you enlarging the screenshots?

    In need of playtesters! If your interested, please post your email in this thread. Help is very much appreciated, and of course you will be mentioned in the scenario itself.

    Perhaps it's just something I prefer, but I seem to enjoy set tasks and a more limited type of gameplay more then huge, free-roam maps that are a little overwhelming.

    Don't be under the allusion that this aims to be large; the storyline is very shallow, and the game itself only takes around 20 minutes or so. The reason for the map size is that I never was going to release it, but it turned out quite well, so here we are.

    I'd consider signing up, but alas Tom, I AM still designing... and at my standard snail's pace. Majorly working on one thing, going to finish my Silver Trident entry regardless of it being valid or no, got a random scenario idea that I'm still not sure on how it would work (2v2 is all I can figure atm), and I'm designing a semi-RPG, and I'm currently working on an idea for a typical yet not-so-typical RPG...
    You know, if I could just work on ONE thing at a time, I might get done faster... But that's too simple.

    1. There's a new screenshot added to the main post.

    2. Progress has been made and it's very nearly finished.

    3. Playtesting has begun, starting with Yeebaagoon. All that's left to do is an ending cinematic.
