Topic Subject: Guide To Make Unit change some times...
posted 19 December 2004 05:12 PM EDT (US)
This is my first guide so dont laugh

This is a guide to make unit change some times to something and back again

You will need a Day/Night Cycle if you dont already know how to make go to
Day/Night Cycle 1
or
Day/Night Cycle 2
Lets say you want to get a guardian to sleep when its night and awake when its day.
First make a guardian. make the guardian to an army. make so Trigger this way:

TRIGGER_1: NOT Active || NOT Looped || NOT Run Immediately
Condition: None
Effect: Message : Its Day. The Guardian Awaken.

TRIGGER_2: NOT Active || NOT Looped || NOT Run Immediately
Condition: None
Effect: Message : Its Night. The Guardian is sleeping.

TRIGGER_3: NOT Active || NOT Looped || NOT Run Immediately
Condition: None
Effect: Army Change Type : Guardian : change to Guardian Sleeping
Fire Event : TRIGGER_2

TRIGGER_4: NOT Active || NOT Looped || NOT Run Immediately
Condition: None
Effect: Army Change Type : Guardian : change to Guardian
Fire Event : TRIGGER_1

in the night Trigger (in the cycle) add another fire event like this:

Night: NOT Active || NOT Looped || NOT Run Immediately
Condition: 500 Seconds
Effect: Set Lighting: Night
Fire Event: Dawn
Fire Event: TRIGGER_3

And the day trigger:

Day: NOT Active || NOT Looped || NOT Run Immediately
Condition: Timer : 500 Seconds
Effect: Set Lighting: Defeault
Fire Event: Dusk
Fire Event: TRIGGER_4

you can change Trigger 1 and 2 to your own message.
you can change Trigger 3 and 4 to your own armys and what the shall change to.

Hope you understand it

Good guide for the real basics. Most designers would know all this but its useful for newcommers all the same, One note is that you can't have NONE for condition, this would have to be timed appropriately

you can have none condition becuase in the Day/Night Cylce is there 5 Triggers.
the main activat the night there activat the dawn there activat the defeault (day) there can activat the dusk there will activat the night so it just start over again.
and the Trigger 3 will be activated of night and Trigger 4 will be activated of the day, Trigger 3 and 4 activat Trigger 1 and 2.

No, there is no such condition as NONE, the closest you get to NONE is always which strangely means nearly the opposite

YOu need a timer. The trigger will not fire at the end of the set lighting - it will happen immediately.

Hmmm...you have been a member since 12/19/04 (today) and already writing guides?

This is an interesting trigger trick, but it hardly merits its own guide, don't you think?

As previously mentioned, most people could figure this out on their own (especially since there is already a "Day/Night Cycles" guide).

If you notice there are no Conditions so this can't work.

Just have a QuestVar set to "day" or "night" (depending on the situation), and have a condition check which is it.

please first try this and see if it works, then you can make a more detailed guide about it. And basicly those two link guides are the same guides made by me

also, i explained that you can do simmilar cycle effects by using other effects...

but anywayz, nice try, just need more info
