GOD DESCRIPTION

Note: we tried to respect the most possible the Mesopotamian mythology and history, but for the myth units, it is clear that we can’t change the visuals. That’s why we made them without considering the real myth units of Mesopotamian culture. We just know that they had a lot of different chimeras, so we tried to give some. For the upgrades, we thought about gods. We chose the god with a lot of care and then we made upgrades with the field of action of the gods, but at first to be interesting to play, original and balanced.

How long has this been in the making?

Looks more like a bunch of Ideas, aka: a waste of time.

Never demo threads like these, especially under the Modding Discussions, especially without proof of images, working concepts, et cetera.

Also a lot of these Ideas sound either eh, or just straight up useless (referring to all threads related to this)

I used to beat down threads like these. But well, let the guys have fun with ideas. if this is what he enjoys doing, then why discorage them?

it's cool that they are two guys working on a project like this. Even if it doesn't work out or doesn't work out as planned, there is much to learn

I'm also on a scenario-project which takes a lot of time to complete, and I dont know if I'll finish it, but showing off what I have can be fun still. Also I'm close to require some balance testers for the first act of the scen. x_x

sry I'm used to be quite active on this forum, even more my threads,
but I can't remember any notification about this answers!

@aomExpert How long ?

think to the idea of the civ wasn't extremely long, though it is difficult to count, I discussed with Skiwiwi and I'm still continuying now, because we are testing it online and there are quite a lot of things to modify

But the realisation on the editor was and remains very very long

I do it from scrap, before April 2017 I didn't even know how to use the triggers

I benefited from the help of the community here and I did a big trigger test scenario where I putted a lot of trying, very dirty triggers which were ~~working
And I started to do the final map about 2 month before going in summer holidays
Finished the first solo beta in end september/october I think
And the current online beta was made at the beginning of the autumn holidays

Now I'm looking for more and more playtests from more and more people

steam "eine_Gurkensalat" if someone want to test it

@XLightningStormL

this isn't only a bunch of ideas, but also a multiplayer scenario (it was in the scenario section, then That Aom Guy moved it in the ai rms section)

I didn't post anything on the forum before having a playable beta version of this, in order to prevent this type of comments ;')

@MrEmjeR

You can't be hurted by smthg like this :,)
And I know that some people are very interested
I'm one of these people, but absolutely not the only one

@Izalith

It can be a good idea if I test your stuff and in return you do the same with my stuff :,) !

I'm glad with this project. I really think that a game like aom needed this.

I can even remember a thread many years ago where I defended the idea because many different civilizations of Mesopotamia shared the same pantheon despite the local names.

I am new to the modding scene in AoM and my question may be a bit naïve. Is there a chance to get them as a additional civ or necessarily are they replacing one of the current civs?

I have my own experience in other RTS games with by the use of modules you can add instead of a mandatory replacement.

How does the project work?

Thanks in advance.

I will be very happy to get associated with a moder.
I've currently almost no mod expérience (i just made some funny mods for me to explore, with the spécial attack of myth units), but this project will be far better with a mod

So i can't answer you about the way to do this as a mod, i just think that it's simpler if we take an existing civ and replace.

This topic was at the beginning in scenario design section, because it's currently a scenario where player 1 is playing with the New civ (and it works quite well though not perfectly)
It has been moved here and it's true that people are more interested here for this sort of topics

I'm currently in a beta phase where i try to playtest and balance

The problem people have here is not against the idea itself. It's against having ideas, but never actually making anything. And worse, if they demand other people to make it for them, because they think their idea is the best in the world.

But if eine_gurkensalad is saying that his project is already in beta, means he isn't one of those. (eine_gurkensalad some screenshots would be awesome though!!)

Nope, it's hardcoded into AoM, so only the devs could change that. I say some guy on the discord who said he was going to try to find out if he could change it though... no idea if he will be succesful

I understand better the "hostility" of some people, this was a misunderstanding

Screenshots will not show very New things because this just a scenario with normal textures.
However i was happy to see that there was some spécial atmosphere emaning from the camp of a mesopotamian, i will try to show this on a screenshot
