Please do post your new pbem games, petition for substitute players, report when you will be absent from an ongoing game, or whatever else applies to PBEM gaming news. Please feel free to post suggestions about this thread too.

Please Note: New Service - Contact one of the players in the "Game Password Keepers" box to hold passwords for a game. That way, if one passworded player *disappears* on you, he can help you unlock the game so you can continue play. If you can help, please sign up by posting your email here!

Retrieving Passworded Games: If you find yourself in a game where one player has disappeared and has passworded his turn, contact each person on the list to see if they have the password. The contact should unlock the game but not give out the password. (Delete the password or put in a new one.) This guarantees that passwords remain confidential. (Some players use one password for all games.)

Please do not post messages stating you are looking for a game. Instead, post a link to a message about starting a game.

To avoid clutter, please avoid discussions on this thread. Instead, add a link to a thread with the discussion.

Note: ALL messages will eventually be deleted. Keep a copy if you will want the text of your post later.

WHAT TO POST:

New games:

PBEM game map name or game name.

A link to the game's turn log or signup thread. (To put a link to a thread in your post, just copy the url from your browser "address" line, create the new topic under "pbem news," and past the address line into the message).

A short (only a few lines) description of the game. Shorter is better.

Post a followup message when the game is filled.

Substitutes:

Same information as for new games.

What race needs a substitute.

Post a followup message when the position is filled.

Absentee notice:

Your name and possibly game name(s); race would be nice too.

Days absent.

Other:

A short paragraph with other pertinent information (such as "game stared" or "position filled").

A link to another thread for discussion purposes. DO not discuss here! Please.

I am back, after an unexpected terrifying reason to be away.
Now I hate the hole world and don't plan on going out anywhere
exept for work, so I will be more available for games...
Count me in and forgive me if I am sending you the wrong turn,

i installed that last mod pack uploaded on the web of aow.heavengames and forgot to backup, had to reinstall, i think i will have restart in all my games =(

ups i think i also *ucked up wrapper config xD

i hope it is just 1 restart for every game and no more =(

I changed my device and I will have restart messages in all games.
Now I use tablet with windows 8.1. It looks that it works quite well except for mapedit. :/

My playing time becomes very scarce these days due to work. I'm trying my best to have the turn sent within acceptable delay (no time for logs, sorry!).

I hope the situation will get better after 2-3 weeks.

Yeah, I think Deroman is out too and some of the new guys.
I wish everytime somebody decides to go away for a long time
he surrenders and we continue with his race defeated. It is
kind of tiring to search for subs. It can take months.

So I propose a new rule! If you are sure you won't be able to
play your game in the next month - you SURRENDER!

In the mean time I am searching for the next sub for this
game (The Forge of War):

i think we must "renew" our games, i dont know. i just dont want to play anymore any of these games. they will never finish.

if you want, nosferon, we can play some maps, with more constant players, start new games, you know ^^

i'm actually playing with some people, if you want to join us.

Well hello there!

Found my old Age of Wonders one CD copy from the shelf, reinstalled and moved to play some of the campaign (of course most of my time in game goes to reading all the creature descriptions and campaign tale). Beautiful music scenery and in-depth description made me remember all the good times we had here (if any of the good ol' timers still linger around). Actually, I am surprised that this forum is still online!

Anyway, I would like to try again a PBEM game for nostalgy's sake, with all the turn log writing and such. Is anyone (old or new player(s)) still around interested to have one?

Well, I just started a PBEM two hours ago (gog.com/forum/age_of_wonders_series/xelm_plateau_ii_pbem_turnlog) over at the GoG.com site. That forum isn't quite as dead as this one, but we can always do with another player; hope to see you there sometime.
