Hm... I revive this thread with a thought. Remember the Tavern the Barberians can build? That first line strikes me odd ("Drink! Drink!, etc). Anyone think of anything?

This is not really an easter egg, but (at least for BI, and maybe RTW) you can rename your settlements. I just heard about this recently, and there are probably other people who have not heard of this, either.

Click on a city to go the management screen. left click the city name, and the usual typing 'bar' thing (I'm not really sure what it is called) will appear. Backspace and then retype a new name.

Thanks go to a poster at TWcenter for this.

That was originally going to be in RTW, but I think they cut it before release. You can mod the hypertext to change settlement names though, and also I think you can do it through the console with cheat commands.

If you read towards the star of teh thread, we've allready found it.

I've found one in BI today- the mention of 'LEE-mays' in the Lemanarti profile. It seemed odd that it was spelt like that, so I checked out Wikipedia. Lookie Lookie!

However, I think the 'holy grail' easter egg is in a speach- probably hunnish or somthing like that.
We should really make a list of easter eggs in one thread

Captain fishpants never gave the confirmation as to what the easter egg was did he? And if he did, could someone plz repeat it, i'd like to know what that easter egg was. And if he didn't, since M2:TW is out, would you be as kind to let everyone know what it was?

He just said that it was in BI, and you have to look further than Romans, pretty much. Oh, and it comes up on one of the faction's screens they get in game or somthing.

this thread irritates me...just give me a damn answer, I've dropped BI a year ago because it was irritating as well.

OK.

Next time people claim to know better while pontificating that they "know" history inside out, just point them at the Hun Temple of Ragrehs, the horse-god's place of worship.

It might help if you spell the name backwards.

More information on why we chose the name here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shergar

Before anyone gets too cross, I did warn you that it was a small joke for us in the design department. And we really did need a name for a horse god for the Huns so that they could get the appropriate temple-based benefits from the tech tree.

Shergar, yeah the famous racing horse who got kidnapped, read about him a long while ago.

Well, I'm glad you disclosed this to us now that MTW2 has come out, time for most to move on to a new game and new easter eggs. First though, I'm going to try and finish all the campaigns and battles in RTW and BI and maybe ATW as well.
