THE NEW REPUBLIC THREAD BY ARTHUR OF KINGS
THE NEW REPUBLIC THREAD (CONTINUED) BY DARKBEING
CONTINUED BY /==DarkBeing==\ AND POSTED BY /==Azzie==\

The New Republic Thread is now the longest lasting RPG at SWGBH, by far. Many have wanted to join its previous version, but by that time the thread was already at least 140 pages long (now that's more than most of the original threads at HRP!) I have decided to create this new thread which will explain current events, characters, etc, and allow new members to join in! The previous threads were long and the newer thread seems to be full of bickering. Please be fair and above all, have fun!

Dedication: I'm dedicating this thread to KrytosTrap and DarkBeing. They both doggedly pushed the threads ahead, fixed bickerings or avoided them altogether and are true RPers.

Yes, I CAN dedicate this thread. Besides, if you argued you'd get jumped by half the thread and flamed by the other half

THREAD BRIEFING:

This thread takes place relatively 30 years after the Battle of Endor. Time exists as one REAL day = one month in the story.

Most of the thread history aside, the Vong created a temporary "wormhole" that sucked in several fleets of ships that were sent to destroy the Vong invasion of the galaxy. Those fleets of different empires were sent to the Vong Galaxy. Once there they had to fight for their lives, and are still fighting.

Now there are two galaxies - the "Native" Galaxy [the normal one, where all of the Star Wars books and movies take place in] and the "Vong" Galaxy [where the Vong rule about 55% of the galaxy, and there are many hostile aliens]

In the Vong Galaxy, the survivors have met with some relatively friendly aliens and have forged alliances. However the Vong have destroyed one race of aliens, leaving the Empire relatively defenseless. The Empire, the New Republic and the Romulan Star Empire [natives of the Vong Galaxy] are now the last defense against the Vong. Meanwhile, the leader of the Tyrehlian Shadow Order unleashed a horde of demons upon the Vong Galaxy. They have burned, killed and subjugated many worlds and are engaging in their "Black War"

In the Native galaxy, the Empire and New Republic merged to form the "Galatic Dominion". In response, the Tyrehlian Shadow Order, the Legion of Darkness and the Neo-Trade Federation merged to form the "Jedi Nation". The Hutts and Black Sun merged a long time ago, and are currently allied with the Dominion. A new Rebellion has been formed against the Dominion, and are causing quite a lot of trouble for them. The Neo-Trade Federation is almost finished constructed a wormhole that will allow the survivors in the Vong Galaxy to return home.

If you hav any questions, just ask! Feedback appreciated. Let's get some new members! Please just don't come in here and start flaming others about this being "yet another stupid RPG".

NOTE: DarkBeing is the offical moderator for this RPG. I, Azzie, am merely starting this thread for my own stat-editing convenience and to begin a new thread not founded on the bickering that followed the creation of the previous continuation. Lets have fun!

I have a few *technical* questions:

1. Are some/all of Gunray's characters now with the Dominion?
2. Does "Zi" count as a character for the Yuuzhan Vong?
3. Welsh, is that how you wanted it? - the name changed from "Dieu Sovereignity" to "Legion of Darkness".

I also need those characters from you.

The Rebellion's stats will be added soon, after they are formatted.

I need a small list of Rebellion leaders.

And ps, Solomon - Leia and Anakin Solo are both under my control. Shadow Knight Leia is the Knight-Captain of the SSD Fate, and Knight-Captain Anakin commands the SSD Victory. Those are currently the only 2 SSDs in Shadow Order possession. Apparently just a drop in the bucket of the Jedi Nation's fleet tho

I am temporarily resigning my position as Marre Usvil, Sobi, and Kilco Tyrsac as well as my control over the characters in the Acolytes. I shall return eventually but I definately need some time to cool off or else I shall certainly lose my temper against Azzie.

I understand there was consensus but I feel that I have been completely rejected and am not up to anything in the way of cooperating in a civilized fashion. It is most certainly, a harmful flaw in my personality.

Farewell, for a short time.

Whilst I am sorry for your temporary departure, I most certainly respect you for leaving instead of arguing or yelling furthur.

If there is anything I say or clarify, you can e-mail me if you want. I'll give out my address if that is something you are interested in.

OOC: Zi technically is not a Vong character, but he is controlled by me. Include him under the Vong stats. Also, I note that the Vong no longer have any army stats. Do I have to repost them?

Thanks for the dedication man!

Autonom Space

Czulkang Lah's forces reached the remains of Mechatopion, the former Autonom capital. They were impressed that some unknown force had done all this destruction to the unsuspecting Autonoms, but needless to say they were greatful for the fact that the invasion was now incredibly easier.

80% of Autonom territory had been taken, and the Vong were now ready to call for another set of reinforcements to take on the Romulan infidels, who had never proven to be resilient warriors.

All was well.

------------

Yuuzhan-Tar

Shimmra, Septienna, and Zi looked at the latest reports concerning the horde of unknown warriors and the events happening on Yuuzhan-Tar itself.

"I can solve your little house keeping task, Shimmra." the tiny sphere said telepathically.

Zi suddenly began to glow brightly, and Shimmra and Septienna stood back. Small metal casing fell from the sphere onto the ground, but Zi never seemed to get any smaller.

The metal casings took shape with incredible speed, and within another minute, they were fully completed.

The three figures stood up. At first they looked like Imperial Stormtroopers, but they were made of a distinctly metallic texture, and carried no visible weapons.

"Allow me to demonstrate my power by using these soldiers to hunt down your infidels." Zi said.

"But the Palace is huge! How would they be able to do so?" Shimmra asked.

"Because these soldiers use a technology that can detect non Vong units within a very large raidius of their location." the sphere said.

The two metal troopers took off at an amazing speed down the corridor, prepared to hunt down their prey.

"I will deal with our larger problem in a bit. But first I must rest." Zi said, the sphere moving back into a large chamber, and the doors shutting behind it.

"Zi seemed to create those two warriors from nowhere!" Septienna said, amazed.

Shimmra was troubled. He was using an incredibly powerful machine to defeat machine using infidels. But the survival of the Vong was at stake, and anything had to be done in order to survive.

Even if that meant using the very reason the Vong detested machines.

The Rebel Alliance
Leader: High Command composed of mostly Trilogy characters

Headquarters: Wild Space!

Territory: None per se, but over 150 bases and stations spread across the galaxy. Bases are spread throughout the galaxy, from deep space, asteroid and scrap fields, nebulas, to moons, abandoned outposts and planets, as well as Wild Space planets.

Planets\Populace: No formal Rebel planets as yet, although most of the industrialized centers of civilization have portions Rebel and pro-Rebel populaces. Some world and regional governments are pro-Rebel, but not overtly so. Other factions of the galaxy have also Rebel contacts, like the Ssi-Ruk and the Chiss.

Military:

The Rebel Alliance Military is composed of a variety of diehard Rebels, unsurrendered New Republic squadrons, unreconstructed Imperials, Dominion defectors, and representatives of the oppressed peoples of the galaxy. Local and Regional Governments sometimes help the Rebels.

Other Factors:
The Rebels are VERY informal right now, but growing. BUT, they do have a very efficient military core fleets, operating as seperate task forces\fleets. This means they will NEVER all, or mostly, be at any one place at any one time.

12 Carrack II Light Cruisers

Support Ships:

50 Nebulon B Frigates (various types)(the ones that look like guns) (100 Squadrons)
15 Lancer II (ASF) Frigates
40 Corellian (ASF) Gunships
100 Bulk Cruisers

600 B-Wings
2400 E-Wings
600 K-Wing Bombers
1200 X-Wings
120 Y-wing Suicide Bombers

PROSPOSED

The Rebels currently rely on defectors and other factions to contribute ships.

The Rebel Land Force:

No exact numbers of Rebel troopers, although rough units have been assembled under different leaders throughout the Galaxy. These troopers serve as Fleet Marines, planetary defenders, and raiders. All Rebel bases are considered secret.

(All Estimates)

Land-Based Squadrons

Imperial Gunboats, Z-95s, X-Wings, A-wings, and a mixture of other, local styles of fighters.

Land Forces:
2,000,000 Rebel Soldiers (various types of regular infantry)
20,000 Stormtroopers (All Types)

Admirals Sein Sovv, Admiral Kre'frey:
These Admirals operate in the Mid-Rim area between the Perlemian Trade Route and the Corellian Run. The Sullustan Sovv leads "Task Force Indigo" while the Bothan Kre'frey leads "Task Force Dark." They operate out of Bothan Space.

Btw, there is NO need to post any characters beyond the ones from the movies, or any of the info I have. The other characters and info are just for my own planning purposes, so I can write from their perspective when I write a battle.

OOC: Ok.. I have figured out where all of you are. If I attack you, and you are not of the Dominion, then I apologize and will retract.

Now, over the week, I am going to be writing many attacks on many targets. Guess which ones!

Legion characters

Amekri - Female Overlord of the Legion. Immensly powerful Dark Jedi Master.

Travnosh - Female Majordomo of Legion Armed Forces. Talented Dark Jedi Knight.

Karakan - Head of the Legion Elite Guard.

Also, its Anzac, Azzie , and all 'Sovereignty' should be changed to 'Legion'.

Anzac
Amekri was in the barracks, where she was putting on her pitch black, neck to ankles plasteel armour - despite the fact she had the weight on her back, she still pushed herself with the force with ease.
She ignited her lightsabres, and did some flashy moves, which would have killed an Elite Guard had it not been for his own force pike blocking it off.
She ushered a word of apology, then walked out, her retinue tagging behind.
She found the dropship with which she would be taking her mission to, and walked into the cockpit of it, two of her 10-person guard going with her. She flew the aircraft into the docking bay of a cruiser going out of the atmosphere, and waited.

Attack on TYNNA

Task Force Hammer jumped into the system. Admiral Sien Sovv, aboard the MC Crucible said to his XO, "*#^@ #*())@".

"No kidding, sir." the XO replied in the affirmative.

The Kamino System, one of the staging areas of the Outer Rim Fleet, was the target. It had a Dominion Imperial-style "Ubiqutious" Base, with an accompanying shipyard. The shipyard itself was the target. Task Force Hammer, 2 Star Destroyers, 4 Mon Calamari Cruisers, and a dozen other support ships, began their attack run on the shipyard. Within it, a two half-built Destroyers were located, and a dozen other Star Destroyers and support ships were docked. More importantly, howver, was the massive Super Star Destroyer still docked. Active were three Star Destroyers and a two dozen support ships, spread over the system. As the task force entered the system almost on top of the yard, the Dominion resistance was at first slow and disorganized. TIE hordes began to spill from the shipyard, and other TIE groups were forming up around the system from the various outpost ships.

The first TIE attacks began on the task force, with Rebel fighters at first easily smashing the peicemeal attacks aside. However, TIE numbers grew larger, and so TIEs began to slip through, and the first attacks on the capital ships began. The ship's batteries began to pump out some major energy towards the attackers, minimalizing the TIE threat for a time.

The first major target was, however, a pair of Golan II defense platforms. These were capable of deterring any fighter assault on the platform, so a determined assault was necessary. Two squadrons of bombers, Kwings and Vwings, began their direct assaults on the platforms with the assistance of lead elements of the task force, a Nebulon B and Carrack Light Cruiser. With the attention of the platforms being taken up by these medium capital ships, the bomber squadrons hammered the two stations, disabling one, and shattering the other in a ball of light.

The two Rebel ships did not suffer lightly, and so dropped back into the formation. Their purposes of breaching the defense line were accomplished, and so were replaced by the Star Destroyer Whitehawk and a MC Cruiser Redemption, both of which were the spearheads of the attack run on the SSD and the shipyard.

However, they still had to get past the defences of a Star Destroyer, which was on point defence for the shipyard. The Redemption and Whitehawk both engaged this ISD, enveloping it in a pincer movement. The ISD was also set upon by the remainder of the Golan attack squadrons. Under this combined assault, the ISD quickly was gutted, and left drifting, almost all of it's compartments open to space. The shipyard was now open to an attack run.

However, the TIE assaults had been steadily increasing over this time, as the TIE groups from farther out-system began entered the fray. They concentrated on the Carrack Cruiser and Nebulon B Frigate that had been withdrawn after the Golan assault. They had both suffered hull and heavy shield damage, and the TIE assaults were ferocious and focused upon these two hapless vessels. Rebel fighters were knocked out dozens of the TIEs, but sheer numbers began tearing chunks out of these capital ships. With one single explosion, the main decks of the Nebulon B seperated from the drive section, and the Nebulon B was broken in two. Rebel Transports, under cover of fighters, began to pick up escape pods and survivors of the wreckage. The Carrack Cruiser was also hammered, but being of a less fragile design, it survived these assaults, albeit with heavy damage.

Meanwhile, the attack on the SSD and shipyard had begun. All of the major Rebel capital ships began to fire at "dry-docks", the docked ships, all the other components of the shipyard. Many of the docked ships did not have full crews, and so automated many of their gun turrets. This reduced efficiency helped the Rebels out immensely. The path of the Rebel Task Force ran directly over the SSD, and so it recieved the bulk of the fleet's turborlaser and ion cannon fire. Rebel bombers began to play space bombs and rockets over it's surface, while a daring attack on the heart of the ship by 3 Kwings blew the SSD's bridge off of the superstructure! The SSD, now disabled and suffering from many systems failures. The fleet then began to fire upon it's moorings with the shipyard complex, blasting hundreds of Dominion soldiers out into space as they tried to reboard their ship. The SSD, now drifting, and still being hammered by the Rebel fleet, drifted towards the planet, where it eventually broke up upon hitting the planet Kamino's atmosphere. The shipyard and the docked ships were getting devastated, as running fights between the diminishing TIE numbers and Rebel fighters now were weaving in and out of the complexes and holed ships.

Sien Sovv, watching the strength of the Rebel fleet getting weakening, and the Imperials getting reinforcements, decided it was time to get out of Kamino's gravity well and escape. However, the out-system Dominioners were gathering, and reinforcements had arrived. They had formed in three groups, trying to pin the Rebels against the planet. Sien Sovv aimed his fleet toward the closest hyperspace jump point, which was guarded by one of these Dominion groups. The shipyard he left behind was in shambles, with the SSD, it's dozen docked support vessels, and the shipyard itself in shambles. Most of the ships were total constructive losses, and the shipyard could no longer support anything above a frigate in size, and only a few of them at that. A few flight groups of TIEs still existed, but most perished in the intense dogfighting and assaults on the Carrack and Nebulon B. They mainly harried the rear-guard squadrons.

Facing him were FOUR fresh Star Destroyers, two Strike Cruisers, a pair of Escort carriers, and a squadron Lancer Class Frigates.

He messaged in his own reinforcements, and played his final card and fighter reserves. Under the cover of the lead Ewing, Awing, and Xwing screens, a squadron of Assault Transports loaded with space bombs, with a squadron of E-wings, and led by a Missle Boat, began attack runs on the lead Star Destroyer! The first salvo of space rockets and bombs, nearly 4 dozen of them, hammered into the Destroyer, overloaded it's forward shields, and carved holes out of it's top hull. The Destroyer, temporarily overwhelmed, then was attacked by the phalanx of Rebel Destroyers and Calamari cruisers. It fell, back, mortally wounded. However, the fresh Dominioners began to carve into the battered Rebel capital ships.

However, the Rebel reinforcements arrived! Elements of Task Force Anvil, with the Bothan Kre'frey in command, jumped into the point directly behind the Dominion fleet, and a deadly cross-fire began!

Communications Log: 0245129CRU-0231890PEM

Communication Record

Kre'frey: "I see I am needed."

Sovv: "*^%$* &&^%% && @(( #&$&&$ *** --#*# @#-($#* + #*#@!--***"

Kre'frey: "Yeah, same to you buddy! Let's just get you out of there."

End of Communication

The Dominion ships were soon chopped up, and Dominion reinforcements were held up until both Task Forces jumped safely away! Sovv's Task Force was badly beat up, but crushed the Dominion activities in Kamino for a while, and denied the shipyards to the oppressors. The Rebel fleets took a series of meandering jumps back to the Rebel Sector Base.

Losses:
Rebel:
Nebulon B Frigate
Carrack Light Cruiser (total constructive loss; converted to bomb ship)
Mon Calamari Cruiser Redemption (total construtive loss; converted to supply hulk)
150 mixed Rebel fighters

Dominion:
1 SSD (trapped in shipyard; set adrift; shattered on atmosphere)
2 half-built ISDs (trapped in shipyard; destroyed)
3 ISDs (destroyed or total constructive losses in space combat)
18 Support Ships ([from Heavy "Strike" Cruisers to Lancer Frigates] lost in space combat; trapped in dock)
nearly 500 TIEs of mixed design

Coruscant

Isard stood in the shadows as the Senate debated about meaningless views. What did they know? They were merely pawns in the grand scheme of things, diplomats who bickered endlessly about what 'they thought was best' for their sectors, when in reality they knew nothing of what their people wanted.

It was time to insure total control over the Dominion once and for all.

Isard walked out into view before the Senate, and they fell silent. She walked out to the hover podium and then spoke.

"Fellow senators. I bring to you a voice from the past, a voice which has led us through years of war and times of peace. A voice you all remember well, and who was thought lost forvever! I bring you...Grand Admiral Maximus!"

The senate gasped, and to their amazment, Maximus stepped out to the podium. He looked in perfect health, no, exceptional health.

He spoke with the commanding voice that everyone was used to.

"Fellow citizens of the Dominion. I am pleased to inform you that I am alive and well. I was not sucked into the great wormhole of Ssi-Zahn at all, but instead was badly injured, and floating in a single escape pod in space. I was discovered by a rescue team, and sent back to Coruscant in secret. In the folllowing months, First Citizens Isard and Usvil have given me the details about the unification of the Empire and the Republic.

I am greatly pleased with this, and have decided, after much thought, to resign my position as Emperor. I will now live out my retirment in peace, with the great hope that our people are now united. First Citizens Isard and Usvil are now in charge. I thank you, and farewell."

Maximus walked off the podium. The chamber was silent, and then broke into thunderous applause.

Isard smiled. The illusion was perfect. The actor Flim had mastered Maximus' act pefectly! They were all convinced! And power was now legitmately hers!

All was well.

---------------

Byss

Isard returned home to the secret planet, and relaxed. She had much work ahead of her. While Usvil dealt with politics and diplomats, she dealt more with the military issues.

Her biggest problem was this new rebellion that was beginning to spring up everywhere around the Dominion.

If it was allowed to develop, it could become a cancer that could envelop the Dominion, and cause a chaos similar to the one that the original Rebellion caused.

It would not happen again, she would not allow it!

Opening an encrypted channel, Isard contacted the list of bounty hunter's on the Dominion's payroll.

Their orders: Find the leaders of these dissidents..and destroy them.

Master-Director Cledwyn reviewed the work being done. While the droid factory had not yet begun to be constructed, the workers quarters, operating facilities and a small part of the cloning facility was now completed. The hundred or so Shadow Guardians patrolled regularly and also greatly helped in the building of the facilities. In breaking from normal tradition, Cledwyn wore his robe with his hood down, his white hair in contrast with his blue eyes and smoothe skin. Slowly, he returned to work, issuing orders and planing the next steps of construction.

Lord Tyrehl now had a brilliant excuse for the building of many excess ships - the protection of the Jedi Nation. The Shipyards of Sluis Van, Bilbringi and various other small ports were working non-stop on producing ISDs. An occasional Super-Class Star Destroyer was constructed. The majority of these ships were sent to increase the sector fleets of the Shadow Order and it's new allies. However, a small precentage made their way to Vyll Prime, where a fleet was beginning to take form.

After many attacks on various worlds it was becoming slightly routine for the Horde. It was a time for a change. On his black throne on the Iron Chariot, Ravana conjured up a link to Chernobog on Tuat. He smiled an evil smiled and ordered that the dungeons be opened.

Within days, the Demon King watched as their creatures attacked an unknown world inhabited by some barely sentient species.

Smaller creatures and their psuedo-tamers emerged from their vessels. Dressed in what appeared to be some form of hide or leather, thigh-high boots, gloves and various clothing - the tamers brandished long dark whips that clashed with their white skin. Although spectacular looking, it was their pets that caused the trouble. Ugly dog-like creatures, small dragons, lightning fast serpents - all black as deep space. Breathing fire, howling and spitting venom, they attacked the defensely world. The Horde laughed at their entertainment and positively howled as the natives defended theirselves with mere clubs and primitive spears.

Days after the attack had began, the populace seemed to have been annhilated. The Horde picked it's weapons up and flew off to another system.

And Vyll Prime is in the Tingel Arm However, my FIRST TWO planet choices [Duro and Bilbringi] are like, way away from the rest of our territory

Yuuzhan-Tar

Palpatine and Nexus had used some of their healing techniques to revive Maximus to better health, and the Grand Admiral now was able to sit up. He watched as the Sith Lords and Lord Kevin discussed issues with Nom Anor.

"We should get off this planet immediately." Palpatine said.

"Perhaps you could explain how we are going to do that master?" Nexus said.

"Eclipse." Maximus said, surprising the Sith Lords. "I refuse to leave here without it."

Mara looked over at Maximus. He was a stubborn fool and definately would not let his ship sit here at the mercy of the Vong.

"We may have a way to get there. But it will take a little time to arrange..." Nom Anor said.

Suddenly, Nexus looked up and his eyes darted around the room wildly.

"Something...is coming..." he said. His eyes were full of fear.

"It is something unlike anything I have sensed before." Palpatine agreed. "We must leave this area at once, before we are discovered and Nom Anor is revealed."

The others agreed, and headed out the passageways, hopefully to safer ground.

---------

Meanwhile, Lord Connery and his exotic Shadow Knight companions had an easier time evading the Vong, using the Force.

They had made it off the Eclipse, and were now on the planet.

"What do you propose we do now?" asked Sharrah, one of the Shadow Knights.

"Find a ship. Hijack it. Cause havoc. Find our masters. Leave." Connery said. He was always an optimistic man, but he was also very wise.

Well, he was using generalities to describe his position. I'm sure he knew where Bilbringi and Duros were.

As I understand it, according to our discussions using this map from:

www.nav-computer.com

The Dominion controls the Core Worlds, Colonies, Inner Rim, Expansionary Rim, 80% of the Mid-Rim, and parts of the Outer Rim. His holdings are lesser along the southern portion of the map, DB declaring that Eriadu is the southernmost stronghold for the Dominion.

While he does own important targets like Mon Calamari in the Eastern Rim, most of it is uncontrolled by the Empire.. ahem, Dominion with the exception of the area around Bastion, and Yaga Minor, the area where the Empire had retreated to in the books.

****

Now, as I understand it, the Jedi Nation and Rebel Alliance are in kind of a mixed posession of the southern portion of the Outer Rim. What the Jedi Nation does not control, neutral, Rebel, and pro-Rebel governments do.

The Rebels also occupy other portions of the Outer Rim, Wild Space, and parts of the Outer Rim in the north of the map. The Rebels also have quite a few bases WITHIN the Dominion itself, although those are secret staging areas, etc.

And yeah, you described the situation perfectly. Dominion controls Deep Core through the Mid-Rim, with the Jedi Nation controlling parts of the Mid-Rim, a large section of the Outer Rim and various little places [wild space and the tingel arm being examples]

Thx.. I tried a variety of different keywords in both the Image and Website categories of Google, until I ran across this website.

NOTICE:
Ok, for everybody, I wish to transfer the basis of my original assault on KAMINO to TYNNA, along the Corellian Run. I will adjust (and probably repost) my attack on the ENDOR system, but to reflect that there weren't any Jedi Nation ships about.

This will facilitate the last of my assaults for today, that upon KARBALA, just inside the Mid-Rim Territory along the Corellian Run.

*****

Attack on Karbala

After careful survelliance by disguised Rebel Freighters and spys on the ground, The 5th Battle Group warped into the system, intent on making a sweep of Dominion ships. Karbala, the capital of the Dominion's Mid-Rim Territory, and one of the major R & R stations for the Imperial Mid-Rim Fleet, was temporarily depleted in defending warships by the diversionary attack further up the Corellian Run, at Tynna. A massive Rebel attack on the Tynna system had drained this system of any serious reinforcements.

Ripe for the picking then.

Karbala, still a border world, was still heavily guarded. 4 Battle-groups, headed by Star Destroyers, commanded the approaches to the planet, and roving patrols of smaller ships and TIEs patrolled the outer system. It was one of these smaller patrols that first alerted the Dominion Command of trouble.

"Sir, I have mulitple hyperspace trackings on an incoming vector. Unknown designations."
"Rebel ships have entered the system! Rebel ships have entered the *crack*pop*-shhhhhhhh!"

And with that, the Rebels arrived. Coming in on top of the small patrol, the Rebel task force under the command of Han Solo obliterated the small patrol, consisting of a pair of Lancer Frigates and the bulk of those ship's TIE complements. The remaining TIEs fled toward the main battle groups.

These groups began moving together, to form a solid battlefleet against the Rebels. Their array was three forward, and one in reserve, watching the planet. The Dominioniers gathered their forces just as the forward elements of the Rebel fleet hit them. The Rebel Fighters punctured through the TIE screen, and aimed toward the Star Destroyer Right to Rule. The Star Destroyer began pumping out ASF lasers from long range, but only a single Xwing winked out of existance. The Xwings were able to avoid the worst of it. However, the TIEs giving point defence of the Destroyer came humming in. The Xwings suddenly broke up to engage the TIEs! The TIES and ship's batteries turned to respond to this, but suddenly the Awings, previously covered and hidden by the Xwings, powered through screens and launched pairs of space rockets at the Star Destroyer! Two of the daring Awings targeted the Destroyer's shield towers, blowing them up in twin balls of light. The remaining Awings planted their rockets all along the upper superstructure of the Right to Rule, leaving it a crippled mess, and ejecting escape pods.

The center of this battlegroup was broken, but it's support ships certainly were not. The Rebel phalanx of 1 Star Destroyers and 3 Mon Calamari Cruisers ploughed through the Right to Rule battle group, ripping up the crippled Destroyer to a mass of metal, and battering it's support ships into destruction or retreat. The other Dominion ships began to close about the Rebel Fleet, and a serious pounding match began. TIEs began to really mix it up with the Rebel Fighters, and the outnumbered Dominion ships began to pull a small retreat toward their reserve battle group, now out to assist. TIEs also began to make runs on the capital ships, but were intercepted by a net of Awings, and Assault Transports, acting as outriders for the Rebel formation and ships. TIEs continued to drive in their assaults, however, but their fragile nature allowed the Rebels to chop them up.

"Heh, watch this buddy!" Solo called out to his companion, Chewie.

From the hold of a nearby escort carrier boiled out 2 squadrons of Y-wings. These obsolete ships, however, flew with absolute precision with each other, and soon formed up, split up, and headed toward the nearest Star Destroyers. They flew by fellow Rebels and Imperials mixing it up in broiling dogfights, and did their best to deflect TIE attention with their rear turrets.

As they neared the Star Destroyers Relentless and Impunity, they finally recieved some attention from their batteries. Turbolaser and ion cannon began to play out toward them, gradually increasing until they were within torpedo range of the Star Destroyer. They began launching torpedos, dozens of them, as they emptied their magazines. The Star Destroyers, with accompanying TIES really began to focus on the Ywings, and were surprised at how easily they exploded after their shields were down. It was not until that the first Ywings began SLAMMING into the sides and bridge towers of the Star Destroyers did the Dominion realize what they were. Suicide droid bombers! Ywings and torpedos began to rain upon the Star Destroyers, taking both Destroyers with them into oblivion. With the Relentless and Impunity now exploding hulks, the Rebels began to tear into the support ships of the Dominion. Vong Cruisers, their Yammosks disrupted by Rebel gravity generators, exploded first, followed by Strike and Carrack Cruisers, Lancer Frigates, Escort Carriers, and finally an old Dreadnought. Many of these ships were destroyed or disabled, but just as many retreated in good order to the 4th Star Destroyer, the Victory class Sceptre.

The captain of the fourth Imperial group, just in time to see the destruction of his superiors, began to evacuate the system. He was joined by Dominion reinforcements, including two more Victory class destroyers, but with mounting losses, he judged that he could not hold the system any longer. The Dominion evacuated the system, leaving wreckage strewn around the system, and the planet below helpless. However, not all ships hypered out with him. Two Strike Cruisers and a scattering of Lancer Frigates and other Dominion ships stayed behind, and defected.

No messages from the ground were recorded at this time, but the Rebels sent some of their own. The shield generator was shortly sabotaged, and with the fall of the shields was the fall of Karbala, and it's surrounding net of stations, platforms, and Golan defence stations. The appeal to avoid a massacre of the population soon came, and after Han's gruff demeanour was known, the appeal to to surrender also came from the Dominion Senator.

"Who do they think we are? Butchers?" Han asked himself. "Yes, we accept your surrender! Just get them to disarm the stormtroopers, while we contact our friends on the ground."

A week later, the planet was secure for the Rebellion! Han began to prepare for the Dominion counter-response. The first order of business was the repair the damage of the shield generators, easily accomplished.

Han also sent the bulk of the 5th Fleet out-system for a mobile reserve, and Rebel High Commmand brought Task Force Dark in hyperspace range of the system, with the specific task of attacking any Interdictors or ambushing forces at Karbala.

Losses:
Dominion:
Karbala
3 Imperial Star Destroyers
a dozen support ships
500 Dominion fighters

Rebel:
1 Strike Cruiser
1 Escort Carrier
2 Corellian Gunships

Battle Notes
The Rebels of course, not having the same numbers to confront the Dominion outright, have to resort to other means of reducing opposing star fleets, like the suicide Ywings and the Awing Slash. The Awing Slash is out of the Thrawn books, btw, with Awings following Xwings so closely that they appear to be on target on radars, and when the opposing side moves to engage the Xwings, the Xwings break off, unveiling the Awings and so they get relatively clear attack runs.

Of course, now that the Rebels have unveiled these little tricks, and others I have written, they DO know how to counter-act them.

''Sir, we have just spotted a fleet of Star Destroyers exiting Hyperspace along with some very big, but the signal dissapeared again.''

General Keyan Farlander was incharge of the base, ''Dominions, how did they found us?''

''No sir, it appears to be Hutt ships, the slimy slugs have the largest spy-network in the Galaxy, no wonder they found us, wait, THEY'RE CHARGING''

Hutt Fleet

''Lord Durga! 4 Mon Cal Cruisers, a Victory Star Destroyer and a Assault Frigate are comming from the dark side of the planet''

''Dispose of them''

The Star Destroyers made short work of the Capital Ships, but the Assault Frigate was going to jump into Hyperspace.

'' Launch the Homing Devices''

The small devices quickly sat themselfs in the hull of the Frigate, and the Frigate jumped into Hyperspace, the battle was won and Durga's men quickly found the Frigate's vector: Bothan Space, their next target.

OOC: I'd tread lightly in Bothan space, as seeing the Jedi Nation controls Bothawui. Of course, attacking rebels is completely justified

[edit] - I forgot about your earlier question Fyyar. Yes, the Jedi Nation and the Galatic Dominion are at peace. Not technically "allies" but we aren't at war. - [/edit]

[edit2] - Solomon: What are the numbers in parenthesis next to your ships? I can't tell which is the number for total ships per class/type of vessel.

Also, you have a couple of soliders, listed twice. Instance:
25.000 Elite Rebel Soliders.... then later you have listed 50.000 Elite Rebel Soliders. Is one correct and the other not - or should I add them together?[/edit2]

IC:

Vong Galaxy

The King summoned a map of the galaxy. The room filled with a dark smoke, which then subsided, transforming into a giant map.

Clearly outlined were borders: The brave, but foolish, Yuuzhan Vong, the cowardly race that hid behind stealth generators and their small borders.

But the Horde was growing. Every week, every day - every hour, more fell before their might. More planets were conquerored in their name, and more blood was shed: Khazig's prophecy was coming to pass, and the Black War was just beginning.

Ravana grinned and ordered the Iron Chariot be flown to a planet the Vong had named Lyra.

Duros, Aboard the Destiny

The young griffex had chosen to stay with the Shadow Order, though not actually a member. Often times he babbled incoherently and others he prophesied clear. All sounded dark and foreboding.

However there did seem to be hope. After many months of careful listening and analyising, it appeared that the Anjel "moon" - De'ago III was in their own galaxy, not that of the Vong. However that appeared to be irrelevant - there was no way to get from one galaxy to another, and the Horde was in the Vong galaxy. Not Tyrehl's problem.

Yet.

My stats were divided along available space forces (ie, the mobile attack forces, usually stationed on starships and military transports, space stations), and land, planetary-bound troops used only for resisting ground invasion or local raids. So, you can combine all of my stats for your own purposes, but I will keep them divided for mine.

Hmm, the Black Sun and the Hutts are attacking the Rebels? Interesting. Heh, I see there is a MSN conspiracy a foot.

And sorry, you can ignore the numbers in brackets. Those were my calculations of fighter capacities, so you can erase them.

LOL, well you controlled Bothawui, but I didn't know you controlled Kothlis, or Moonus Mandel, or any of the other systems of that region.

Well, if you can dispose of my ships like birdseed, I assume I can do the same with you.
