Hi again AoE fans,
Unfortunately my other topic about the "AoE Trailers" is still quiet, but I really hope this one will get some attention of some old AoE collectors.
In the early 2000s, Ensemble Studios has published some AoE2 Wallpapers on their webpage in loseless BMP formats. These are the first official wallpapers about AoE2, and unfortunately not available to download from any source anymore. I searched everywhere on internet, but all I could find are their JPG copies, which are lossy and badly compressed.
It's possible to view the original download pages for those wallpapers on Archive.org viaTHIS and THIS links.
As you can see, there are 9 BMP wallpapers in total. Wallpaper titles and the file names in the domain are:
-Conquerors Logo (conquerors.zip)
-Ensemble Studios Logo (eslogo.zip)
-Knight Wallpaper (knight.zip)
-Knights Wallpaper (knights.zip)
-Highlander (highlander.zip)
-Persian War Elephant (elephant.zip)
-Viking (viking.zip)
-Conquerors Petard (petard1280_1024.zip)
-Conquerors Turtle Boat (turtleship1280_1024.zip)
(how unfortunate, only elephant.zip was archived and is available to download at the moment)
