Cool nice boat carcoma have you tried a galleon with a broadside cannons

I like smaller version with no sail only the hull as the first ship of the gally line.
Ships might look nicer with more texture right now it looks a little too plain.

The "Jabeque" (Xebec in English I believe ...) finished.

Can't wait to see Carcoma's Boat Set Project
But seriously these boats are really diverse and interesting.

Great work (again) Carcoma, the ships looks really good very refreshing to see new ship models, that's something AoE2 mods have always really been lacking.

@Trirem

I really like the ship in that way, but just my opinion, the third sail on the back of the ship must be removed, and the central one must be anchored better, but generally speaking is a good ship, also, as obvious, good job Carcoma!

Affa is right, Trirem, the Xebec has one or two sails, nothing more, and when I designed it I did it for a single sail like this.

And this is a sample of the new boats:

The latter is a "Polacra" version with square sails of the "Carabela"

Carcoma, these are absolutely brilliant!

The galley in particular is just perfect. Given how dominant oared galleys were in Mediterranean naval warfare for the most the AOK time period, it always disappointing me that the game never captured that feel or the image of naval warfare under oars.

Is there any possibility of a steam workshop release for these?

Very clean, very sharp. Hope you make a lot of different units in this style!

Oh certainly I agree with everything you said, I just did this to have a quick look at how well the sails work with the hull, and with a bit of anchoring this would work very well

Sure, I never though to offend you in any way, it's right to make a quick test in order to watch how graphics looks like in different assets!

thanks to all.

@chiruscan:
I've made a new version of the longboat to include it in AoCH.
Probably adapt it to the viking longboat (with shields on the edge).

@The_Old_Breed:

The operation of the sails is somewhat complex.
The boats rotate, to adapt to their positions, from the center of the hull. The sail also rotates from the center of the boat but elliptically. Each turn depends on the position of the sail in the longitudinal direction of the ship's hull.

In this way, the original sails can only be modified in anchoring on the Y axis.
If you change the anchor on the X axis do not fit in the boat turns.

That is why there are so many sails units.

@Mahazona:
Thank you very much for the link about the types of boats
The Arabian galley ... I put it in the design queue ..... I want to dedicate a little more to the Sengoku Project

Hey carcoma check out this pic..

I know that the boat refliction is made in Photoshop, but don't you think that would be awesome that your new boats have that reflection inside the game for real?
posted 02-26-17 07:04 AM CT (US)     31 / 138
These are all amazing! They fit in so well with all the other graphics too. I may contact you down the road about boats for my mod, if you aren't to busy and are still up for it then.

@ The_Old_Breed:
El color de los reflejos depende del color del agua, ya que es esta la que refleja. Habría que hacer tres reflejos diferentes para cada color de agua ya que no podemos utilizar transparencias, que sería la mejor opcion.
No obstante intentaré hacer alguna prueba.

@ boston30 :
Gracias por las imagenes, las guardo para los barcos chinos

@ Cactiguy :
Puedes contar conmigo para sus barcos, encantado de colaborar. Ennvíeme a mi correo sus ideas

I'm sorry, I just got home from work and was half asleep ......

@ The_Old_Breed:
The color of the reflections depends on the color of the water, since this is the one that reflects. It would have to do three different reflections for each water color since we can not use transparencies, that would be the best option.
However I will try to do some testing.

@ Boston30:
Thank you for the pictures, I keep them for the Chinese boats

@ Cactiguy:
You can count on me for your boats, delighted to collaborate. Send me your ideas

Let's see whether my Spanish is still good enough to understand this:

@ The_Old_Breed:
The colour of the reflections depends on the colour of the water, because that is what reflects it. I've made three different reflections for each colour of water, because we can't use transparences, which will be the best option.
Nevertheless, I will try to create a sample.

@ boston30 :
Thanks for the images, I will keep them for the Chinese ships

@ Cactiguy :
Could you tell me about your ships, I'd love to colaborate. Send your ideas to my email.

Not bad, you pretty much nailed it 😜 except that he said that he would have to make three different water reflections, not that he has made them.

Whoups. I read "había" instead of "habría".
Found another one: "which would be the best option"; not "will" ("sería", not "sera" ^^).
