NeoMutation by Myr_Enforcerer (aka Me, lol)

Style: RolePlayingGame.
Players: 4 human and 2 computer.
Average play time: From 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Trigger Count: Around 400-500 (exact number will be updated later)

As some of you may already know, the first Mutation map was created by GreyWolf quite some time ago. The main feature of that map was the fact your main unit could "mutate" (transform) into differents units as it killed enemies.

NeoMutation, based on the previusly said, tries to improve the gameplay adding a lot more stuff to interact with the map, as well variety during mutations. If you havent played any Mutation, i can tell you that it is some sort of RPG scenario, where you and 3 more players advance through a land infested with hordes of enemies.

Having in mind how easy was to finish the previus versions (that is if you and your partners arent noobs, no offense), this multiplayer scenario features a harder difficulty, demanding players to micro well and work as team, or else die. You have to use your main unit specials and priest in a smart way to be victorius.

Eventually you will gain godpowers and items to aid you in the quest.That, in general, is what this map is about. Read down for more deatailed info.

FEATURES

>3 all-different "mutation paths". You can choose between Murmillo (speed and hack armor), Destroyer (hit points and attack) or Arcus (range and pierce armor).

>Unique set god powers depending your mutation path. In addition, there is a respawnable god power that can be used practically all the game, unique too.

>Day-night ambient cycle. Host can turn it off/on during gameplay, if he likes a particular lighting setting.

>Challenging bosses. Micro skills and team work vital for survival.

>2 difficult settings: host can choose hard mode instead of the normal one (wich already is quite tough )

>Intro and ending cinematics.

>Continuos dinamic music as you play.

TERRAIN

>Varius terrain types gives variety to the map.

>Decent eyecandy in each area.

>Secret areas where you can obtain certain benefits.

ABOUT THE MUTATION PATHS

Path 1: Murmillo. Gives you the fastest units, ideal for lure tactics. High hack armor and decent HP and atack. Howerever, bad pierce armor, and initial units must be heavily microed to work efficiently.

Respawnable GP: Summon Rune (Lure). This GP will create a supporter unit where you cast it, wich will prove usefull as meatshield or for lure tactics. It haves 100% pierce and hack armor and 15 HP (upgrades as you play) but dies quite soon after the summon.

Path 2: Destroyer. Gives you the strongest units, in terms of HP and attack. Howerever, armor is the worst of all, and speed is the slowest too.

Respawnable GP: Scarab Blood.(Lure) Generates Scarab Blood where you summon the Lure GP. It damages units in area. It works good vs regular units and some myth units, but dont use vs heros or buildings. This GP is the weaker in terms of damage, but as you upgrade it, you will get it in packs of 2,3 and lastly, 4 each time.

Path 3: Arcus. Gives you the ranged units. They work mainly as supporters, due to their low hack armor and relative low attack. In the other hand, their range is very usefull and have high pierce armor. Their speed is in the middle between the other 2 paths.

Respawnable GP: Lighting Arrow (Bolt). Inflicts target enemy quite low damage. This GP respawns faster that all others. It can damage all units witht the same strenght.

deathman: Well, i dont know if Unit Work will indeed work with set player as defeated. Il test it if there isnt a better idea.

jml: Yes, iv tried deleting the AI. But still, when testing online, units move on their own.

EDIT:

Iv tested it, and unit work haves not any effect once the computer player is declared as defeated.

I wonder if there is a way to make this work... someway to not use any AI... or one that actualy works as i have explained...

Solution:

Turn victory conditions off and set the computer players defeated. Make your own victory conditions instead. The comps won't move because they are defeated!

Titan602: Sorry im not that person. Np.

nottud: I think iv already done that. Problem is that some effects doesnt work online once a player is declared defeated. So far iv found that ArmyMove, Move unit to point, Unit work and ArmyWork have this problem.

The thing that i may have done wrong could be about the victory conditions. Im not sure if having a trigger with a choosen condition, and a Set player win effect its enough to declare my own victory condition.

I will try it again, with extreme caution, in case i made a mistake but my hope is fadding away...

Wow, very cool indeed. Not just the average walk-down-path-and-kill-at-random type of game. I just have one small complaint...

Nevermind! All works now!

I gave up and used Set player as defeated After that, i had to re-do varius triggers, a 2-day work, but all works just fine now! Yay!

I will sumbit soon the game to the download section!

I have uploaded the file to the Downlaod section, in the Multiplayer categoy. Howerever i cant find it by myself. If you can, please tell. Seems it will take some time to be "published" by the AoMH staff.

Some of the screenies aren't that great, but in all honesty the Boss1.jpg above is one of the best I have ever seen. The mixture of terrain and object placement perfectly meshes. Well done.

Thanks. I recon the eyecandy isnt the "strong" point of this map, but i think it is fun enough when you and 3 more people know to play it.
