Hmmm.... we also need to decide how we will score this. theoretically, any of the alternate scoring ideas would work, although I'm only going to let us choose between a few here (no need to test ones that are basically just slight variations of the others). majority vote wins, although if there are any really strong objections we will find a compromise.
1 - the basic, default scoring: placement points for a 3 person FFA ( 5/1/-6), wizards are worth 2 pts (or we could do wizards are 4 pts for a higher stakes game). Pros- very simple. Cons - does nothing to consider skill levels/handicap the game
2 - chascal's challange - we take the average team points to find their equavlant ladder ranking, and each kill is treated as the results of a 1 on 1 game.
in this game, GM&ZE = 135pts(high inter/B), Tibbs&er= 147 (expert/A), Aus&TL = 101 (low inter/D). if I kill Aus, I would get 3 pts (BvsD=3 pts), he would lose 3. if TL killed ER, he would get 15 pts (DvsA=15), and ER would lose that many.
Pros- skill levels count. encourages better players to team with newbies to help develop them, making our community better. Cons - players with alot of WL pts would need to find a REALLY bad player or play against good people so they dont risk too many points. A poor player would suddenly be risking a ton of WL points if they teamed with someone really good, since it raises their value (although the lessons could very well be worth it).
3 - hiranu's pool - every player gives point into a pool according to WL rank. top team splits 70% of the pool, 2nd team splits 30% of the pool. ER=7, chas, GM=6, rest=4 pool= 29pts Pros; looks good Cons; not tested. dividing points could be problematic.
4 - the Ante - placement points plus wizard values based on rank;A=5, B=4, C=3, D & 0 gamers = 2, E & F = 1 . we could use the individual rank, or avg team rank.
5 - bounty hunter - placement points plus teams are each worth different point values, based upon their avg ladder point total Vs. the average ladder point total of all players involved. The difference is then compared to the 'scoring for team games' chart to find each players 'worth'. In this game the avg score is 127.3. GM&ZE would be worth 7 pts each (their avg pts=135, 8 higher then the avg), ER & tibbs are 8 pts each (20 pts higher), aus & TL are 4 pts each (26 lower then avg).
