Whilst on the planet SR388 Samus is attacked by an unknown parisitic organism, later labelled the 'X-Virus'. She looses conciousnes in mid flight but was rescued by a BSL Vessel after being emergency ejected. The infection is at critical by the time she is transported to the Station, and Samus is near death. All of her Power Suit needs to be rebuilt due to the infestation, and the infected parts are stored away onboard the station in a capsule.Whilst Samus was still unconcious onboard the Station however, things have taken a turn for the worse. Areas of the station have become infested by X-Virus from an unknown source and the station becomes evacuated. Even worse, a new evil has arrisen - an X clone of Samus originating from the Suit parts inside the capsule. It is now known as the 'SA-X'.
As you awaken inside the Medical Bay, confused, all that is left to greet you is a transmission from one of the Federation Captains detailing your mission...
[ F E A T U R E S ]:: 'Cannon Unit' Genie Editing ::The campaign features completely new and innovative genie editing never seen in any SWGB campaign before, curtosy of Genie Editor Master Joab. The genie mod allows the Hero (Samus Aran) to have two 'personalities'. In other words, he can morph into a ball anywhere and at any time. Whilst Samus can attack using a regular beam and is tougher than the Morph Ball, the morph ball can move faster and once collected, lay Power Bombs. These two personalities leave a lot of strategic choices open to the player, and also open up a whole bunch of new puzzles. To switch between Samus and the Morph Ball simply press the Deploy/Undeploy button as you would with a cannon.
:: Use up to 4 Weapons ::Through the course of the 3 levels, you will obtain a total 4 Weapons. The weapons, in order of availability are as follows: Regular Beam : Samus's regular weapon, the ammunition is infinite and no taunt needs to be pressed to activate. It is the default weapon, however will have little effect on tougher enemies. Power Bombs : Only the Morph Ball can use this weapon, and its use is limited to over switches. The Power Bomb can kill in one, however normally requires timing and skillful placing. Power Bombs can also be used to clear asteroid hub that may be blocking the way. Unlike the Regular Beam, Power Bombs are limited and are found normally inside Power Up's (Droid Control Program). Power Bombs are layed using taunt '2'. Plasma Beam Extension : The Plasma Beam Extension is a much more powerful beam than the Regular and can take out tougher enemies in a few shots. Again, the ammunition for this weapon is limited and is also found inside Power Up's. The Plasma Beam Extension is equipped using taunt '1' and once a shot is made, it will revert back to the Regular Beam to avoid accidental use. Para Gas Extension : The Para Gas Extension emits a gas that will paralyze nearby foes for a short amount of time, making them much more vulnerable. Its ammunition is limited and can also be found inside Power Up's.
:: Mixture Of Gameplay Styles ::The three levels of Metroid Residue are varied in gameplay styles. The first level (Demo level) is all RPG/Action, puzzle heavy gameplay. The second level is comprised of both Fixed Force, and Build and Destroy, as you take control of some Federation units, the scenario does however have occasional puzzles. The third level again, is back to the formular of the first level; mainly RPG/Action, puzzle heavy gameplay.
:: Choose Your Attack Force ::In the fixed force part of the second level, you will be allowed to choose which units to take with you for your assault. You will have to 'buy' the units with food rations. Be carefull though, as you dont have much, so tactical decisions must be made.
:: Innovative and Completely New Puzzles and Boss Battles ::The puzzles, in particular the ones in scenario 1 and 3 will require timing and a lot of skill with added pressure from enemies. The puzzles may even require you to retry them due to learning from mistakes.
The campaign also features up to two Boss Battles on each scenario, all with completely new concepts, and take it from me; they are fun :P.

Scenario 1, the largest scenario and also the Demo scenario is about to be sent for final playtest, and so should appear in the download section any time in the next 4 weeks at most.
On the other hand, levels 2 and 3 have little work done on them. I hope to have the full campaign ready for HGExpo, but this is of course dependant on when HGExpo starts.
