You can't customise them.
If you have the titans, you can use the "Change Name" effect and the "Modify Protounit" effect which do the same as what the Customise Unit would have alledgedly done.

Come back strong like the powered-up pacman.

Spelling issues aside, I don't think L_J_C was trying to be nasty. It's true, there are quite a few things in the editor that don't do anything. I remember seeing triggers like customize unit and thinking that would be way cool. For not, however.

Er, and if your question also asked how to actually customize units? Well, to change the appearance of units you have to mod them. Otherwise, you can make slight changes such as unit name, LOS, armour and damage using the appropriate triggers such as change name and modify proto unit respectively.

Hehehe, still waiting eh L_J_C?

Take your time when you post Roby as I had to read your original post a couple of times to understand what you were asking. Also DL "iespell". It's a great, free little utility that let's you spell check your posts before submitting them. And I am not trying to be a jerk, just helpful.

Not trying to ve mean at all, but this question has been so many times. Can't people just check the FAQ. There should almost be a bot that checks people's posts to see if the question has been answered in the FAQ and redirect them to it instead of posting their quesion.

same way: modify protounit (select protounit) - then in the dropdown menue select Hitpoints then put either + or - in the box and ur done!

Quoted from spbogie:

Can't people just check the FAQ.

All people on this forum should give a link in their signature (did it myself today, see below).

A condition is not a trigger.
An effect is not a trigger.
A trigger is a combination of one or more conditions and effects.
It causes effects to happen if and when conditions are met.
Period.
