The Fourth Somewhat-Annually-Held Designer Awards

Nominations Thread

Ok, now it's time for the second part of our four-part-trilogy (wait, trilogy means three, but... aww, whatever). Use this thread for nominations for the different categories. Please use the nomination template provided when making nominations, it makes rounding up the results easier. Also, try to pay attention and not nominate someone who has already been nominated. Rules are below as well.

The CheeZy Award (15 Slots)
This special award, named for former staff member and long-time community powerhouse, CheeZy, goes to the most productive forumer or staff member involved in the AoMH design community. (Paperfriend, Nottud, King Jared, Papaya, jml)

The Gaurdian Award (16 Slots)
This special award is given to the AoMH designer who has achieved the most in the world of AoM design, be it scenario design, modpack design, or some other form of AoM-related design. Named after designer Gaurdian_112 who released 6 great scenarios in a mere 2 and a half years which have reached nearly 20,000 downloads total!
(Cirrius/Cirrow, Nottud, The Vandhaal, DWIEEB)

The Shiva Memorial Award (16 Slots)
This special award, named in honor of Shiva, who tragically passed away this past year, is presented to the AoMH forumer or staff member who exhibits the same outstanding leadership, compassion, helpfulness, and charisma that our former Seraph embodied. We all miss you, Shiv. Please consider your nominees carefully and treat this award with the respect and dignity it deserves.
(Papaya, Alex, Archaeopterix, Nottud)

Instructions, Rules, and Nomination Template

The instructions are simple: copy the template below, past it into a reply, mark down your nominees, and submit it. Simple, right? Well, there are a few rules....

Rules:

  1. All nominated scenarios and campaigns must have been created/submitted to AoMH after March 27, 2006. Modpack, utility, and RMS items are exceptions to this rule, as good submissions in these categories tend to be rarities.
  2. This thread is for nominations only. Any discussion regarding the awards is to be carried out in the Discussion Thread.
  3. You may not nominate yourself. The reasons are fairly obvious; if you have to rely on yourself for nomination, then you're probably not gonna win anyway.
  4. All AoMH forumers and staff members are eligible for nomination unless otherwise stated.
  5. You may only nominate once. Only one nomination post will be accepted, so make it a good one, and please don't post more than once.
  6. You may nominate a maximum of 5 people per category. Anymore than that and things become cluttered and/or unfair.
  7. There is an overall maximum of 20 nominee slots per category. Once 20 people have been nominated for a category, that category will be closed.
  8. Nominate responsibly. Don't, say, nominate the same person over and over again because they're on your design team, for example. Maturity, dignity, and honor is the order of the day.
  9. Do not whine, complain, or carry on about any nominations. It's unseemly, unnecessary, and generally unpleasant. So don't do it.
  10. Do not insult, flame, or otherwise attack anyone, nominee or otherwise. Same reason above.

That's about it. Remember to nominate thoughtfully, maturely, and without bias. And please, follow the rules.

Only the bolded names are nominations. The rest is reasoning for my choice.

Best Scenario: I personally loved Auron's El Muelle de san Blas. Are PTC entries eligible for nomination?

Best Multiplayer Scenario: Haven't played any of the recent submissions. Abstain

Best Single Player Scenario: Again, El Muelle de san Blas if it is allowed.

Best Scenario Designer: The Vandhaal. Keep up the good work

Best Campaign: Legends of the Third Age: The Fellowship of the Ring. It was really nice when the patch was installed.

Best Scenario Cinematography: Archaeopolis by Archaeopterix. If it is allowed.

Best Cinematic: There haven't been any since Christmas Chaos, have there? Abstain

Best Cinematographer: Abstain

Best Modpack: Dragonfly by crazydragon. The texture is awesome.

Best Modder: Ah, tough one. Abstain

Best Random Map Script (RMS): How Not to be Seen - Special Edition. I wouldn't have thought it would be possible to do such things with an RMS...

Best Random Map Scripter: M0nTy_PyTh0n, hands down. We want to see more master pieces

Best Utility: Time for a change, I nominate nottud's Editor Patch.

Best Utility Author: I still think this should be reyk, though.

Best Critic/Reviewer: Archaeopterix. He's not reviewing much anymore, but his previous reviews are great.

The Pointless Award: Abstain... We need more humour.

The CheeZy Award: Paperfriend. Working hard with guide lists, answering questions and all that.

The Gaurdian Award: The Vandhaal. Just look at his reputation!

The Shiva Memorial Award: Alex. You are doing great.
