Courtesy of Today, I received my press beta and well guess what was the first thing I did when it was installed...I went directly in the editor So, I decided to tell you what I think of the editor so far... Upon opening the editor, I was suprised to see how lagless it was(I was sure it would lag like hell or something). Then, I went to the triggers tab but only took a brief look(not sure why effects/conds are not here...probably something missing in that build or just me too newbyish Afterwards, I went to the Place objects menu. Once again, it's very well-done. On one side, you can pick the player, on the other you have all the units listed. You can sort them if you want in different categories or leave them as they are. You can place units, rotate, task them inside the editor(which is wicked imo) and such stuff. The eye-candies are abundant, the units too. I placed down a few FPH's(you guys will laugh when reading their description, ES sure has a sense of humor) and the Lazer bears(once again, kudos to ES for their humor) and a couple of other normal units. Then, I decided to go and check the lighting just to mess around and there's not much to say on it. It's like what we saw in screenshots. Hmmm...I also went to place some water/cliffs. Oooh...that is damn nice, there are like 20 water types you can put down and 10-15 cliff types or so. I don't know how to adjust height of water/cliffs yet though. I tried using beautify, but I'm not sure how it works so that'll be for later. I then messed with Unit copy/terrain copy. Found it a bit more limited than AoK's one but once again it could be my inexperience. I haven't touched the camera mumbo jumbo since I've never been good with them Hmm...what else ? Oh terrain, terrain is like water, there are tons of terrains for about everything. Hmmm...some stuff I didn't like(though I'm still a uter-newbie with that editor):I couldn't figure out how to change of age, the copy feature wasn't as cool as AoK one(changing player and stuff). Think that's all I didn't like So far, it looks like ES has done it again. I hadn't found an editor I liked much since the AoK/SWGB editor which was ES-made, but that one looks like it's gonna fulfil my expectations(which have been set high since AoK's editor). Good job guys =)
