This is a match between Fromage and Timelord on a map by Swolte (just a random map with an hour worth of work to make it remotely balanced and perhaps a little bit more fun).

Good luck, ts!

Day 1

The first order of business was the watchtower within a few hours walk. It was guarded by a catapult and some archers and made for a risky attack, but I managed it without casualties. From this better vantage point I could at least decide on a basic strategy.

The mine to the south was lightly guarded.

p.s. Thanks a lot for taking the time Swolte!

Day 1

We had no watchtower but we did secure a windmill. We already sight a friendly village on the horizon and my slow-moving scout is sent to buy their allegiance. I should have sent another...he will be one hex short tomorrow!

Thanks, Swolte! This should be a good match

Day 2

I see no villages on the horizon

I did see a very threatening patrol headed towards my capital and I had to move to head it off. The battle went well enough, and my general got a front row seat on what devastation a War Mage can do with the stoning spell.

Day 2 -

A threatening Dark Elf patrol was intercepted at my end, though with the loss of a cavalry. Now, my hero is down to the lowest support troops possible but atleast he has some, though I had to cancel some production to give him the gold to recruit that village's farmers!
I, personally, capture a windmill and take on a couple of draconian low-levels to secure another outpost.

Got a leprechaun's pot o'gold, but now I am in dire need of healing. Won't be able to do much until that's solved.

I echo my opponent's sentiments
I start building a monastery to get some healers. My hero won't be of any use without some healing and all the nearby structures are heavily guarded!

There is certainly a lot of interest in monasteries these days. A day of silent introspection.

A day of scavenging...2 piles of mana and a pile of gold were picked up, wonder who dropped them. Would it be those 2 spies and 6 bandits guarding the farm?!!!

My assault on a haunted crypt started off catastrophically. I was looking at losing my whole army, with archers popping up out of the ground and some vulnerable and gravely wounded units. But then, my heavy cavalry, despite being wounded and cursed, killed three units in one turn. The tide had turned with a stroke of great fortune.
