The red ones seem to be eager to come and have a look in these Drow countries. I would not be a good host if I wouldn't have a welcomingscommitee, wouldn't I?

Skulkan - Day 32

Merlin's fleet is superior to mine around the isle. That makes the battle for the
underground island more interesting. For now my simple transports run from his
war galleys, but this puts a damper on some of my plans. Above ground it is quiet,
but there is the smell of a storm in the air. Which way do the battle winds blow?

Ke-nan attacks, and kills my scout, east of Kitharos.

I take his water mill south of there, for a return favor.

My Elven longbowmen are poised, ready, and aimed high towards the east of Kitharos.

Although, I am blind in the desert . . .

"Brains over brawl." The Swordsmaster said this with a straight face, regarding his students. "That's right, you heard me. To win a fight, one does not needlessly have to end it by sticking to pointy end in the entrails of your enemy... You've got to it in style."

With this, the young fighters allowed themselves a snicker of amusument. Their training has been hard so far, and they made themselves no illusions, it won't get any better. But by now, they got to know their mentor slightly better. They all knew this old geezer was a hard nut. Maybe even tougher since he became incapicitated, as he did not fight by the rules anymore.

"You see, we Drow... we're not the kind of creatures that can count on superior strength. Orcs can use this strategy, but we can't. And unlike Dwarves, we can't take hit after hit and just shrug off the damage. No, we got to fight using our heads. Tell me, when was the last time we Drow did not use tactics in our fight? ...Anyone? Well, I guess I've proven my point." As he paused his speech, he also hobbled towards the table holding various objects one can find in a fight. Weirdly enough, he took a torch and lit it.

"You there, young Dae'shasimaer. Come closer. Here, take this torch... Good, now as you all see, this boy has a pretty badass weapon in his hands, called fire. You'll see, me I am unarmed. Now, young man -attack me!"
The boy did as he was told to do, though he was bemused which point would be made by their maester. Even though he had a weapon, he was carefull, his feet and hands working in harmony, keeping a good balance while he searched for an opening in the Swordsmasters defensive stance. If one watched this scene and wouldn't know any better, this would look more like an eloquent dance as something else.
But finaly, the young man thought he found a gap, and he tried to drive home the searing thrust. But the fires never hit the target.Instead, the flames died and a cup of water was sitting on top of the torch. That split-second of bewilderment, earned him a nasty uppercut from his mentor that connected to his left jaw.

"You see class, one who uses his brain, always has the upper hand in combat." He took the doused torch out of the hands of the young soldier, and poked him in the ribs.
"I'm sure this was a lesson which you'll not lightly forget. Now, there's still some time left, so you all better start doing something usefull. After all, this is not a theater."

My underground ship appears to be in trouble. We add a new building to a village.
Otherwise a slow day of troop movement. My hound runs away again.

It was another day without a single fight. My horde still regroups in the desert. The power and the will to strike are not dead, but they will probably need an ally to launch a joined assault.
Messengers sent to friendly wizards. Many sparks rise from the tower of God of Fire, mighty Yaka. Cryes of bloodlust sound from Skulkan's firecamps. One of them may answer my call.

Mab, Earth Mother, Day 34

An elfin cavalry from Selena wanders too close. I do not consult with Skulkan, but rather take the fight to the sun-loving elves. Skulkan's army provides assistance and the battle is over before it starts.

My demon did stray too near the gargoyles and was attacked last night. Regretable, as he lost a beetle and two vampires. But the battle is won and the gargoyles are cut in half.

Jack leads an assault at the ancient crypt. I assist with magic, but only hit three out of five stonings on the dark angel. As a result, we lose the doom bats and a couple minor units. The seduction of a priest lessens the losses. Jack dons the ancient armor, a worthy relic.

War tactics have been discussed with the mighty Chieftain, Ke-Nan. We shall not dance with the drows or play with fire,
an opening has been given and no cup of water could extinguish the combined fury of my troops and a supporting efreet of my ally.
Meandor is now trapped within his castle, most likely without resources and troops the next turn.

And as my fellow wizards might have seen, my power as the God of Fire has shown itself from this day forward.
As I am a Fire Master and I control all magic within these lands, nobody escapes my eye and everyone will try to run from my magic.

Not sure if I should be receiving a turn as many posts to
this turn log are missing if it is my turn.

Anybody know who's turn it is?

I believe the last turn logged was naecO on 12-24.
Has anyone played a turn in the last month?

The turn is either with Eagleman or Travis.
Nyarl, why would you start sending out your turn again? It did not complete the round since the last time you mailed it - I have not seen that battle with your forces neither the Mastery in its glory yet.

The nasty Goblins are causing trouble for us as always. Always meddling in affairs that are not of their own !

Tensions are rising all around us, as land and property become more precious to each King.

One King has already cast Fire Mastery, which I didn't even know was agreed on in this realm.

Alas, battle lines are being drawn for us, whether we want them to or not.

Tomorrow never knows.

Whatever comes our way, we will do the best that we can.

Today I woke up for a world bearing the sing of the ultimate power of the Fire God - my mighty ally Yaka. I smile when I think of prospects the Mastery shows for Merlin's realm.
Meanwhile my numerous and not so mighty troops close to a point where I will have to call their destination. It will not be an easy call.
