So you have a question? You can post it here!

Since most heavens have at least one question thread, most very popular and most reaching the very noble score of 2500 posts, its time Rise of Legends Heaven follows in the footsteps of earlier heavens: I present you the question thread!

For one, this will keep the forum cleaner and it will be easier to read the remaining topics, and it will save space instead of threads asking questions about scenario design in the Rise of Legends community. I am sure many both great and less experienced designers will take the time to answer both your simple and harder questions, they might learn something new to..

So, post any and all questions about scripts, triggers, units, mapping, modding, really anything that is about something in the Rise of Legends universe, and the skilled designers in the Rise of Legends community will do their best to answer them.

Once this thread reaches the 2500th post I will take all your questions and answers to put them in one massive FAQ. (Remind me about it, soon I will regret this and edit it out.)

Update: I have decided to put basic questions here, and am aiming for about 5-6 questions here, that get asked often:
1. How do you delete units in the editor?
Use Backspace or Ctrl + X
2. Why don't my multiplayer maps load to the opponent?
Scenarios not saved in your 'My Documents\My Games\Rise Of Legends\custom maps' folder are likely to not be transferred across Gamespy. (Thanks to Evolved for this tip.)
3. Is there any guide about scripting?
This guide was written by Archaeopterix, and handles basic scripting. Note: Guide is not online any more.

Is there a script editor in the game? Because for the life of me I can't find it. I found the spot where you can associate the scenario with a certain script, but I can't find where to create the script.

Also, when I put down certain prefabs (usually small things, like small rocks), they don't show up on the map. The same thing happens with foilage. What am I doing wrong?

I assume you know how to change the color of text using html color codes, right? If not, check my stickied sig guide in the community forums. Here are the color codes:

Seraph orange #F0A51A
Angel red #cc3333
Cherub green #33cc33
VIP blue #3D72FF

I don't know. There's a scripting guide by BHG in the RoLH download's section that you can check.

The same thing happens with me. It's probably either an editor bug or certain prefabs don't work on certain terrains.

Yes probably. I also find Ctrl - Z very useful rather than selecting a unit to delete if the unit was placed recently.

Hey, is there any way to change the names of the units or heroes, so I can make a campaign that doens't necessarily have anything to do with Aio? I'm thinking it might have to do with the script editor.

This can be done by creating a custom tribe.

On the scenario editor, if u make a neutral site, then select it, you can change and add defenders 2 it. But if you do ( and this is important, because there are some weird units u can add like 'frankenstein' 'dracula', and 'wolfman') then when you load the scenario, it makes no difference- there are no defenders.What did I do wrong????

- Can I playtest and then go straight back to the editor after that, or do I have to go via the menu?
- Can someone confirm that functions like
int is_unit_in_region (Unit the_unit, Region region)
function as booleans, except that they return -1 for false and 1 for true? I don't see how else functions like this could return integers.
- In what way does javascript differ from "the real thing" java itself? Is object-oriented programming possible?

What is the bug with the editor that everyone says exists. Some say it has been fixed others say there is a bug.

Also, do you need to create a completly new custom tribe or is there some trigger like the modify proto-unit like in AoM? or can you script something similar?
I'm not a mapmaker, I'm more of an editor, I usually make things better, make more eye-candy and things like that.

How do you delete unit in the editor? How do you view animations of editor units? How come the editor units are like 100 times more detailed.
