The Battle of the Green Edges

Genre: Fixed Force

Background Story

"The Soldiers are tired. They're starving. Yet we push on. What flows through the mind of the General? I do not know, and I suppose I will never know either. We have traveled far. From the far eastern part of the Pass of the Cross all the way down into southern Midlau Forest. Through our journey, we have conquered and defeated many Tiranian Defenders. Only now I hear the cries of my fellow comrades. They miss their wives and children. Some has even lost their wives due to this war. According to our General, this war is meaningless. And we are here to stop it...Now I have to stop writing, we have been ordered out. We need to prepare for battle once more. My life for Erus."

-Erusian Soldier

During the three last years, General Caran of Erus has been marching through Midlau Forest, Tiranus. In his path, he has left nothing but destruction and death. Now he has finally arrived in southern Midlau, at the Green Edges. His army is tired and hungry, and the Tiranian Army is right behind their tails. Caran and his soldiers prepare for battle. And this one...may very well be their last.

The Scenario

The Battle of the Green Edges is based on one of my personal created "worlds" which some of you might remember as Xroth.
I created(nearly done at least) the scenario not to have it presented as one of the best FF-scenarios(Because its faar from the best imo). But I rather created it because I felt that people might enjoy playing it.

Features
-Difficulty System
-Increased HP + attack power(limited however for balance)
-Different Events(i.e. Villagers escaping etc.)
-Surprising events at harder difficulties
-A good intro(lasting around 8 min)
-hidden elements and secrets!

Screenshots
The Erusian Army
Battle of the Green Edges

The scenario in itself is done, but I need it to be properly tested so, if anyone here is intrested, send a mail to Exar21@hotmail.com

P.S. I need serious testers!

Beta Testers
-Hussarknight[Recieved. Thanks for yet another awsome feedback!]
-Mashek331[recieved feeback, thanks for the awsome feedback ]
-morgoth bauglir[no feeback recieved yet]
-WizardBoy[no feeback recieved yet]
-Thunder77[Has been mailed v.1,0]

Updates
-Due to the great feeback from two of the testers, I've been redisigning parts of the instructions/texts/objectives and history part. I've also written the new parts in Word, hoping that they'll be nearly free of spelling-mistakes

Will you use a morale system in the scenario? A morale system makes battles more realistic.

I will playtest for you. E-mail: hussarknight@hotmail.com

And that is perhaps the only reason why anyone should create a scenario.

Anyway this looks cool, but whatever happened to that other scenario? That one that was a RPG on a giant world?

*Tries to make up mind if I will playtest* Damn... I already have a scenario to complete, some crap to study for, but... ah... just send me the scenario! I'll playtest! My email address is in my profile.

Hi, Exar! Welcome back after a long time
I have sent you several emials regarding that rpg map and you did not respond. And now i see this brand new campaign coming up that also plays in the same world "Xroth".
What makes the point of changing the whole rpg idea to a fixed force? Was it the lack of idea's or just the whole concept of using that map stuff was not pretty well going?

Those are questions that remains from the old project you had comparing to this new project.

I hope you can accept those.

Im also willing to playtest. I will not be that good in fighting, by using a strategy to win a battle. That may seem bad, but i can't change it yet. Random maps goes likewise

@WizardBoy: There's several reasons why I have no current plan on finishing my rpg. The biggest reason is that it takes too long time to make, and it just had loads of bugs and spell-errors and other types of errors which would take me an extremly long time to fix.
Second is that as time as passed, I've developed Xroth more, trying to make it reflect our own world, which again crashed into conflict with the rpg's tons of triggers.

And no, I haven't changed the rpg into a fixed force. This fixed force is based on a war that took place around 30 years before the rpg's timeline.

Oh and, I haven't gotten any emails about it, so it might either have been deleted by some mysterious reason or something.

@Mashek & Hussarknight: You've both recieved version 1 of the beta. I'll send WizardBoy the version 1 later today
edit: You'll need WinRar to open the file

-Regarding Realms of War-

Quoted from Colo/ Realms of War:

I have a feeling this won't get finished.

Quoted from Exar/ Realms of War:

@Colo: I will finish this!

Quoted from Exar now in 2006:

There's several reasons why I have no current plan on finishing my rpg.

Hehe, funny Mashek. I'd say that I wasn't fully aware of all the work needed to be done and so on when I said "I will finish it", but to be honest I can't really say I didn't finish it. Xroth is still under a lot of development.(yes, I do work out new ideas for it everyday )

And who knows, maybe I will make the rpg version of it one day...

@Morgoth: Looking forward to see the report

EDIT: I have sent the email containing the report. It is 8 pages long, 4914 words big. You'd better read it all.

Exar! Welcome back, man!

Well, I'd like to playtest, but I'll probably be a little slow with my response. I'll do my best though. andre3000rox@msn.com

I would like to playtest, but life has recently been way too hectic for another playtesting job. Good luck on your project.

You (Dantares) also made a good impression with your campaigns. So many hours, wrestling with idea's. Playtested tons and tons of other work of other people.
