Since 'The Great Questions of Life' has been so greatly appreciated, we have come to already the third production of Baske Productions.

New cinematic, new theme. This time we'll go back into history. Way back into history, 8 centuries before the birth of Christ. An age of mythical beasts and brave and glorious heroes. An age where recognition and honor were one of the top priorities for men who waged war.

There were many great men in that age, and this film will tell you the life story of one of them, Ajax the Great. A story of valour and friendship, but also of greed and death.

Progress:
Story: 100%
Sets: 95%
Scenes: around 75%

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Very nice banner, you keep getting better with every cinematic. Looking forwards to this one (go for the humour ).

You gotta be the most productive designer here at AoMH.

I think this story'll turn out nicely. Is this the Ajax as the one from Salamis, or another one?

No, I was just wondering if he created a new Ajax for this cinematic. ^_^

You have Ajax the Great, who fought in the Trojan War, and you have Ajax the Lesser, who was an archer. Don't know much about Ajax the Lesser as I haven't done any research about him.

Yes, it's the Ajax who was king of Salamis.

And because Ajax is my favourite character in AoM, I chose him out of all the heroes

Ajax the lesser also fought in the Troyan war, and he survived, but because he destroyed a statue of Athena when raiding Troy in the end, he got fried by a lighting bolt on his way back home, his ship sunk, and he drowned.

As if he wasn't dead enough when he got fried by the bolt, athena had to sink his boat to let him drown... poor bastard, all that for destroying a statue.

Wiki?

The banner looks great and I really liked your earlier cinematics, so I really look forward to this one.
And indeed, you are very productive.

You're coming out with these pretty fast now.

Baske, do you have any plans to release videos of your cinematics so that vanillites like me (and PPE and probably a few others too) can still watch them?

I tried using fraps, but the recorded file for my 'The Great Questions of Life' turned out to be 3.9GB (!!!), if I find a way to succesfully compress it, I'll do it.

Nice banner, Baske. Funny, so many Ajax's . Good luck on this, looking fowardmto it. I'll be more into it if you can give us a few screenshots of course .

If you don't know what to write, start writing. Same thing with scenario design. If you have know idea yet, start designing.

Please do make this historically corect, There is very few mythology based scenarios/cinemtics that are histoically correct. Hopefully I'll add to that if I ever finish my Legend of Perseus campaign (Ooops! I wasn't supposed to mention that yet!)

Are you going to include the part where he is a suitor for helen?
posted 05 January 2008 09:40 PM EDT (US)     20 / 55
Lol @ Oboe

I was just about to say something like that. There's always HyperCam as a fraps alternative. And for fraps, you could just open in say QuickTime or Windows Movie Maker to compress.

'The Great Questions of Life' is being compressed even as I speak, so this one will also be recorded for ppl owning vanilla or just aom

File succesfully compressed to 50mb, if it'd be compressed to the upload limit here at AoMH (48mb), the text bacame blurry. So I hereby ask a mod what to do? Can I still upload it here?

Ajax the lesser also fought in the Troyan war, and he survived, but because he destroyed a statue of Athena when raiding Troy in the end, he got fried by a lighting bolt on his way back home, his ship sunk, and he drowned.
That's not true:
Ajax and Oddyseus had a 'fight' about who was going to have the armor of Achilles when he died.
Oddyseus eventually got the armor and Ajax commited suicide.
The End.

You should make a campaign of your cinematics once you're done!
