Its here, after some wait, AoMH is holding the first Pretty Town Cinematic Design Contest.

It means, you need to first design the prettiest town and make a cinematic introducing the town to the judges. Use as much eye-candy you want, use as much camera angles you want, this contest wont judge your trigger skills, but judge you on the two things AoM editor offers the best - map design and cinematic design.

Check this page for more info:

Official Contest Page

Ask any related questions in this thread.

Edit:

Added a rule on the contest page - you can have a short storyline.

You can tilt units on the X and Y axis, but normal eye-candy will also work as good.

Good Luck all!!

Can you do the Double Yoda?
A sexual move, where you do a double backflip, insert your penis into the orifice of choice, and scream, "Afraid are you?"

For all of the scenario design community, this is the first in a series of contests for you guys. I know AoMH has neglected the community in the past, but I hope to make up for it with these contests!

Hmmmm what if many members of a same design team want to participate?
Can the entry have a little storyline?

A question, does pitching/rolling units count as a mod?

Added another rule - Possible to have a short storyline, but the entry wont be judged on that basis.

Yes, rolling units, picthing them will count as mods.

Aw man! How can you do that?! Fences look outright horrible without that. Buildings flatten out a beautiful countryside hill. Ugh...

Tilting them or flipping them around. Just think of the screenshot contest ES had, it's basically the same rules when it comes to mods - you can only use pitch and nothing else.

So, we can use CheeZy's patch for the pitch?

And also, this was not very clear for me....

If a team decides to each make one, are they allowed? And also if they choose to let each of their entries kind of fall in with the first persons, will that be allowed?

I guess a team can submit a screenshot, but the whole team isn't going to win T-shirts if their scenario wins, probably only the person who submitted thes scenario. Or you could just submit a scenario "on behalf of [scn team name]".

Thanks for clearing up CheeZy...

Also, I have one more question. The main idea of the contest is to have a camera move through a "pretty town", right? So, could the camera be sort of following a unit, and capturing what happens to him moving through the town?

As said, the main point of the cinematic is to introduce the town to a judge.

I mean, if some guest came to yoru town, you will tkae him on a tour of the city, something like that.

If you choose it through a character, its okay, but once again, scns wont be judged based on that stuff.

how long can be the cinematic, and after it ends, the judges will tour the city with a scout or something on their own, or will the scenario end?

I don't know if this counts as a mod but for mine i have a flying Chariot Archer and i don't want to be disqualified for having a mod.
Is it a mod and how long can the cinematic be?

Thanks!

No, u can't use the new things

The stuff in the scenario, should be such that when the editor was in its original state, not after the editor patches (other than changes by ES).

As far as I know, there is no way to make a flying chariot archer without using cheezy's patch.

If you have a way, or if I am not aware of a way, tell me

There is no fixed time limit for the cinematic, but it should be made to address the issue of introducing the town, no wasting time anywhere else

The cinematic is just to introduce the scenerio, and then they just tour the maps, like walk around it. So the anwser is no.

I was under the assumption the judges would only grade the map on what they saw via the cinematic and that units would play no role as far as touring.
