Is the play-testing available only for the people who reviewed your original map?. *kicks himself hard for not putting in a review after the summer sizzler was over*

This is by far the best sp-map I played!

Especially the editor has been pushed to its limits! This one shows the Shadow Magic editor in its full glory! I hope it will inspire a lot of mapmakers cause this treasure shows there is A LOT of life beyond the RMG!

(..and I just played a very early beta for testing).

Btw when do you release "The battle of creation" adjusted to SM rules? Because the one in your signature is just compatible with SM right?

Yep, campaigner, it does take place before, however, many of the characters and settings make a reappearence.

The original Battle Of Creation plays well with shadow magic, it just doesn't use any of the special shadow magic features.

First impression from one of the lucky guys who already have the map:

Thus far i played the first 30 days of this thrilling single player map. A great story sets the right mood (you don't need to be familiar with the sequel). As stated by Swolte before: the editor was pushed to it's limits ! .... and the map inspired me for sure with lots of additional ideas for my own current map in progress.

The landscape is very pretty and the transitions between the groundtiles are smooth.

The map is challenging and great fun to play. Decisions you make are going directy into gameplay. This giving the map a chance to play it again and again with different methods to play.

I can't wait toplay the rest of the story.... i believe i'm doing well so far

People ! Get your hands at that map when it's released !

Begin your journey into The Blackened Mire...

Look around you, look through the very eyes of the gods and see, laid out below you, the vast, beautiful and ancient land of Erithnia. Look closer and watch the people beneath you; At the base of a lone tower, a small band of draconians has their leader slain by a human using magic which controls the earth itself. Deep underground a prophet predicts to his followers that an orc will rise whose hordes will one day conquer and rule the whole land. Amid the dark, brooding pines, this orc sets off from the edge of Erithnia supposedly at the request of the gods themselves.
For now though, these happenings effect few, look instead to the south west lands of Erithnia for there the balance of power is threatening to fall...

I am a little bit further in the game (with novice AI), so some spoilers are here. I rescued the Orc hero and completed his quest. A couple of turns later, I get the message about the barrier around the bad guy's city, and then the Orc hero says he will give me a gateway, but I don't see the gateway anywhere. Anybody have any idea where its at? Also, how is the Archon hero freed? I have killed his alter ego and have his soul, but he is still in the rocks. This is an excellent map and the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style is definitely cool. My only complaint is you cannot teleport hero items

The Orc hero will shwo you the gateway once you help him complete the quest that he told you about. Check your quest list if you missed it.

The archon hero's soul will only be saved once the city is razed to the ground

Hmm...perhaps I should've waited until my scenario was actually up to put a topic. Either that or people only play scenarios made by the popular people. :\

BTW, Work has started on my next map - expect to see it in about 6 months

JamieJME, you do an excellent job. This is the only AOWSM map i am playing, due to so little spare time I have now.

I found it is difficult but not impossible. You seem to strike a good balance though. (However, I am using it to test my MOD... so my comment here my be subjective). Anyway, it's good map to test how Glutton should be beefed up, one way and other. And the CPU orcs is producing fair quantity of Ogres (new unit) too, on top of Warlords & Glutton.

I'm glad to hear it works well with mods Climber.

There have been another batch of reviews done, once again thanks to all those who are reviewing them.

A few small issues are being brought to light and it is useful to know about then so keep letting me know

The Hall of Honour for reviewers has been updated again. Now 6 more are needed to beat the record number of reviews for The Battle of Creation.

You are one of the best...though, arguably, Swolte is the best (according to me - his Fight for Light map is the BEST I have seen since I have started playing AOWII). Take heart in that. (...and I am waiting for the map you said you will release in October).

Edit: I would put Athendore II on par with FFL, if not slightly more!!!
