[Scenario Design Competition 2008-2009 Winter]

ATTENTION ALL SCENARIO DESIGNERS AND PPL WHO WANT A CHANCE AT FREE PRIZES :P

PRIZES THAT WILL BE GIVEN AWAY:

2 Universe at War
2 Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War
1 Spellforce 2

1 LotR: Battle for Middle Earth II

SCENARIO DESIGNERS

(rank will be decided by rating)

1st place scenario designer
-2 games of his/her choice
-Colonial Militia changed to Scenario Contest Winner

2nd & 3rd place scenario designer
-1 game of his/her choice
-Colonial Militia changed to Scenario Expert
4th & 5th place scenario designer
-Colonial Militia changed to Scenario Designer

SCENARIO REVIEWERS

(rank will be decided by a random drawing by Rusty_Cuirassier at the end of the contest, you must rate at least four scenario validated by a mod in order to participate in it.)
1st place scenario reviewer
-1 game of his/her choice
-Granted Official Reviewer Status

2nd, 3rd, & 4th place scenario reviewer
-1 game of his/choice
-Colonial Militia changed to Scenario Reviewer

5th place scenario reviewer
-Colonial Militia changed to Scenario Reviewer

Picking game order will go as
1st place scenario designer
2nd place scenario designer
3rd place scenario designer
1st place scenario reviewer
2nd place scenario reviewer
3rd place scenario reviewer
4th place scenario reviewer

this will use up all 8 games

RULES

FOR ALL
-A person may win both a scenario designer award and a reviewer award
-May not review own scenario

SCENARIO DESIGNERS
-Must be a Single Player or Multiplayer scenario (may be made by more than one person, but must be from scratch)
-Must not be a rated scenario on hg forums prior to 12/21/08 midnight
-May not edit your own or someone else's scenario that has already been reviewed
-Must be all your work unless co op made
-May be Vanilla, TWC, or TAD
-No mods may be in use
-Downloadable triggers may be used
-Reyk's mod may be used
-All scenarios must be entered no later than March 20th 2009 noon
-Scenario designers may rate other scenario designers scenarios, however if the maker of the map chooses, he can remove the review's score from the final outcome of the contest (in order to remove bad reviews so that they can lose)
-Max of 3 scenarios may be entered
-If you made a scenario containing other people and won a game award, you guys must figure out who gets the prize, or else it will be forfieted to the next position.
-Scenario must not be rated before it is added onto the list of the scenarios in the contest

SCENARIO REVIEWERS
-Reviews must be validated by the mod (review not removed by a mod)
-No smurf accounts, if found that it is you will be removed from the contest in addition to any other punishments given by a mod
-Must be a member of HG by December 31st 2008 midnight (in order to prevent smurf accounts. This supports the fair reviews)
-All scenarios reviews must be entered no later than April 1st 2009 noon
-All reviews must be on scenario(s) entered into the contest

Also you got one rule wrong. its 3 scenarios max not 2.

I don't really have any ideas at all for a scenario for the contest. I have one idea for a scenario, though since i'm going away soon it will have to stay an Idea.

I will enter cave wars but it is still testing now. what's the time limit for turning in scenarios to be reviewed? Is that in March or is that when the whole thing ends?

and as for reviewing, you can't review anyscens yet because none have been releases yet, people please read the rules..

We are lucky to get games as prizes, lucky to get any prizes at all, since most of us either are unable or unwilling to chip in to a fund to provide prizes.

That said, I was thinking it would be cool to give an online gift card to get computer gaming hardware - a chat gamer headset for instnce worth $50 or so for first place, an 8 gb memory stick for saving game files, etc.

But it would be outside the budget of many of the people here, and probably wouldn't be valid in some countries.

Kev, you need to learn to be polite and courteous to people here. As the host of the competition, your behaviour reflects on the community and on Heaven Games. Keep that in mind when people ask "stupid questions" - there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.

Though I know there is no way my scenario could possibly be done in time for the contest to be over, I would happy to review some.

I love Marneus Calgar more than anyone else at Heavengames!

You know the rules by heart, because you've written them two dozen times now, but people reading them for the first time may not have your grasp of them.

May I make a couple of suggestions to your "RULES" descriptions/directions for sake of clarity (especially for non-English guests)

-Must not be a rated scenario on hg forums as of 12/21/08 midnight
REVISE-Must not be a rated scenario on hg forums prior to 12/21/08 midnight

-Must be entered before 2/20/08 noon
REVISE-All scenarios must be entered no later than 2/20/08 noon

-ADDITION UNDER THE RULES-All scenarios reviews must be entered no later than 3/1/09 noon
