Lord Basse:
Not a forummer was stirring, not a n00b in sight,
The piranhas were fed and swam in their tank,
And morgoth, dressed as Santa, drove around in a battle tank,
Matty: "Tank" and "Tank"?
Scud: Way to go, ruining a classic poem!
Pears: Skip to the awards already!
Watson: Yeah skip it!
Sebastien: Yeah!
trebuchet king: Shut up n00bs.
Pears: Off with his head!
sly_guy: ... What I want to say is this; 2010 has been an eventful year, in both negative and positive ways. We all remember the obstacles this site and we as a community have faced. Aro's forced resignment just after New Year's, and all the other staff members leaving us; Steve, Tanneur and Basse. But we also remember all the good things; from Blacksmith reforms to successful tournaments, the AoKH Open, the Writing Contest, and Leif getting wings strapped to his back. It has indeed been yet another eventful year. But I am rambling on for too long now, it's time you get your awards. Bring it, Basse!
Lord Basse: Certainly, Sir!

To be helpful is quite a nice treat, don't you think? To dedicate time to help other in one way or another, spend your precious time on others, help them with their designing, life problems or whatever it happens to be. Being helpful to one another is an essential part in building a strong community. And this year, the award for most helpful goes to no other than

The Staff are the chaps and chapettes who keep the site alive, outside of the forums, and up to date, organize most of the contests, write the news, steal money from the EXCO to give out to contest winners, and so forth. This year has seen many people leaving staff, yours truly included, and one member joining. However, those who remain are evidently doing a really good job despite their small numbers, judging from the votes! The winner this year is, surprise surprise,
4th: Lord Basse: 12
5th: Mashek: 9
6th: sly_guy: 4
7th: Aro: 1
Activity is what keeps the forums alive. That's.. about as obvious as saying oxygen is what keeps us humans alive, isn't it? Oh well. Anyway, the race for this award was quite close, but in the end one forummer emerged clearly victorious;

Just like wine or cheese, forummers mature with age. Well, some turn sour and smelly, but a fair share improve on their manners and turn into really nice people, if they weren't already. Others improve in people's eyes because they actually become visible within the community, which also is a plus. The most improved forummer this year around is none other than

Just like being helpful, being nice is an important trait to have when building a community. This year's victor is also last year's victor, and she won with a landslide; 300% of the votes of the 2nd place. Guess who?

One thing that always amazed me about AoKH, and still does in fact, is how it isn't just a community where everybody's nice and friendly, or just a place you come to have an ocassional laugh, but how the friendliness and humour here comes together with very intelligent forummers. We have a whole bunch of intelligent people here, and it was a diverse list of votes and a close race for the first place in this category; but ultimately,

While signatures may not be as much as an identification of a forummer as they were before the avatars came around (or, you know, before usernames became available, remember that?), but they still serve a purpose. To look nice, spread joy and advertise stuff. The winner this year defends his medal from last year; yours truly,

While ASCII art and funky colours are losing popularity on the signature market, quotes are going as strong as ever. The number one quote of the year was chosen by a small margin, and the signature with this quote belongs to
"When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car."
"I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying." - Oscar Wilde
"Your sword shines in the sun, but is ill-equipped to smear the peanut butter of reality over the warm toast of tomorrow." - Aro
4th: General_Zavier: 4 - "No matter how hard you try, you cannot outwit stupid people." - Anonymous
5th: Carlos Ferdinand: 3 - "I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" - Voltaire

8th: Abhaas Periagil: 2 - "Gil-Galad Was an Elven-king, Who Didn’t Know a Freakin’ Thing"
8th: YoshiX100000 - "I wish I knew what Yoshi's doing on the roof, especially in winter." - Sissi
10th: Andanu Trisatya: 1 - "'When I was a boy, the Dead Sea was only sick.' - George F. Burns"
10th: Bart Pimpson - "Does this beer gut make me look fat?"
10th: Thunder77 - Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music." - Sergei Rachmaninoff
Alas, not all forummers stick around the forums for their entire lives, which in many cases is unfortunate for the rest of us. Be it real life making bigger demands, loss of interest in the game or any other reasons, there are a lot of people we miss. Including some who just come around to see if they've won the Most Missed award

This award, which changes name depending on who was turned into a staffer last, is the common forummer's way of saying who he or she wants as a moderator. Of course, the results don't matter when hiring people, but quite a few times, people who gained a high score here also became moderators later on; oliver, newIdea, Mashek, Matty and myself. Will this become true with this years winner -

Every year we see a good few fresh faces around the site, both irritating n00bs and promising newbies. And noobies, which are... somewhere in between I think? My apologies for not knowing all of the historical etymology. But anyway, this year there was a tight race for the first place with the lead shifting constantly. The top four is separated only by four points, and just one point differs between first and second place! Give a warm applause for our four top noobies, and especially

It's time for the big one, the Award with a big A. The Forummer of the year is the one chap that the community thinks of as the best allround forummer. The race for the top was very even this year with all three multiple winners this year - Bart, Leif and Mule - claiming the first place, but in the end
