One of the most famous and oldest design teams, founded by Inquizative in 1999. The team has come a long way since then and had many credits to their title, including several "Best of" projects for various games. Tsunami Studios has active members in Age of Kings, Age of Mythology, Empires, and Stronghold.Only the best Artists and Designers are invited to join. Tsunami Studios will continue to put forth epic projects and scenarios as time progresses. The university of Tsunami Studios is called the Tsuniversity. The Tsuniversity (TSU) is a unique online university dedicated to scenario design, and a comprehensive library of articles, tutorials, and resources for scenario designers. The current head of the Tsuniversity is Storycreator.

During The past months, Tsunami Studios has been experiencing website delays, and due to these issues many have thought Tsunami Studios is no longer an active design team. As few have noticed, many Age of Mythology individual projects have been released by several of our members, which have somehow contributed to Tsunami Studios in many ways. This thread might also serve as an update to what has been going on at Tsunami Studios.

Partial credit and participation might be given to certain members:
Anastasia, Storycreator, Inquizative, Spitfire, King Jared, Auron, The Vandhaal, Hank, Byzantine Warrior, Zamond Rex Lucis, Kopaka, Pseudowalrus, qtheory, Mokon, Tbarak, Quetzelcoatl, Sukkit, Felix Hermansson, Svede, Macehead, Bartman, Kumar Shah, Jonny_Cartooney, TwentyOneScore,Rayven Redeemer, Zeusthor_of_TS,Kato, Sceletar, & other possible ex-members.

The story begins simple enough. You take up the role of a mild-mannered merchant who owns a small, yet profitable, fishing business on the Island of Clearwood. One day, bandits ransack your business; however, you are able to make it out without being detected. Your goal is to get to Grainsport and to become more of a handy-man, delivering packages, escorting people to various places. Your combat skills, however, do not go unnoticed, and you find yourself being called upon the military officials of different towns and cities and asked to go on daring adventures. You soon realize, though, that the most daring adventures are brewing right under your feet.

This is the first scenario of the Circe saga. After being driven from Aeaea by Arkantos and his companions, Circe is shipwrecked on an isolated island...This is the third version of the original scenario released back in summer 2003. It is based on the 'AoM: The Titans' update I released in May 2004, but I have removed most of the triggers which control the enemy's attack patterns and its use of god powers. Instead, I have added three custom made AI files to control the enemy's actions, which allows for much more flexibility. The enemy now constantly scouts the map and will plan its attacks based on what it finds, so attacks no longer follow fixed routes and may target anything the player owns, no matter where it is located. The same goes for the god powers which may now be invoked anywhere on the map as long as there are suitable targets around. This makes the game probably a little harder since the enemy no longer acts as predictable as before. (During playtesting, I've counted at least three different routes used for the very first attack alone.) To balance this it is now possible to keep the Cyclopes from re-spawning, which should make the final attack on their fortress a lot easier.

The Lay of Vestrigard (Prologue)
King Jared
Rated: 4.8

A cinematic campaign introducing 'The Lay of Vestrigard.' Long ago, a young king of the men of Midgard fell in battle. With no heir, his title was passed to his cousin Theris, a great warrior and ruthless adversary. So adept was he in warfare that none in Midgard dared to oppose him...With his kingdom secure and thriving, the warrior-king set his gaze eastward. For there lay the land of those whom he despised most of all. His vengeful gaze set on Nidavellir, the land of the dwarves. Using sly words and promises of unimaginable wealth, Theris convinced the warriors of his people that the dwarves were their enemies. Convinced them that the men of Midgard should take from them what was rightfully theirs. And so the sails were hoisted, the war horn blown, and the oars set in motion. The Midgard men set sail for Nidavellir, with thoughts of pillage and death in their minds. Yet Theris, their king, had a mind only for revenge. And far to the east, their peril unknown, the people of that sought after land lived their lives in peace, smithying and hoarding and doing all things dwarvish. No less was this blissful peace in the dwarven city of Vestrigard, stronghold and lookout of the western coast of the dwarven lands. Of naught did those little folk know of the storm that was swifty approaching...But they had weathered storms before.

Vesuvius - Volcanic Islands
TwentyOneScore
Rated: 4.5
Download Here
Vesuvius is a island map with volcanos and cliffs. Players all start on a central island unless the map size is set to large, then each player is put on their own island (teams are connected via land bridge) and given a transport to explore. The map can come up in any of four skins, one for each season. This is a fair and well tested map.

StrongHold - Mountain Fortress
TwentyOneScore
Rated: 4.8
Download Here
Stronghold is a defensive map that starts each player on a 4-tiered mountain fortress surrounded by a moat and fortified with towers. A single ramp provides access to the mountain top which allows for quick walling off by the turtler to keep the rusher at bay. Each player is given an uncontrolled bird scout that gives it's LOS to the player (if given a harpy, the user can control it by pressing comma). By setting the map size to large, the map is generated as an island with water around the edges to allow for naval battles. The map can come up in any of four skins, one for each season, and may contain lakes, cliffs, or both. This is a fair and well tested map.

It took some doing, but here is the first world map generated via RMS. With terrain ranging from Icy in Alaska, to tropical in Mexico, the Bahamas and Hawaii; excellent hunting up north, ancient relics in Mexico & plenty of gold in the Rocky Mountains, this map is sure to please. Map size grows to accommodate the number of players and the land masses and resources scale accordingly. On small maps, the Greats Lakes are simply puddles, but on maps with 4 or more players you can sail from the Gulf of Mexico up the Mississippi to the Great Lakes.

Largest setting generates an 1100x1100 12 player map. This is a big map and an 8 player generation takes 50 secs on my 1 Ghz to generate, so be patient. Map skin will come up as warm weather, but on rare occasions, it does snow there.

Arabia is a vast desert with few natural barriers. Moderate hunting and foraging can be found throughout the map: mostly deer and gazelle herds with a few boars mixed in. Gold level is moderate to high, but watch out for the small mines with less gold than normal. Starting towers have been removed; Town Center los (+13) and range(+8) have been increased to compensate. With the absence of starting towers expect a fast paced classical.

Red Sea Migration consist of a large island with plenty of land and resources and several smaller islands circling the main island. You will quickly run through your resources on your starting island and will have to begin transporting units to the mainland. The map plays quite differently to Vindlandsaga in several ways. Your island is larger and can thus support you longer, you lack a transport until classical so exploration of the island and colonization must wait until classical age where war boats abound. The mainland is surrounded on all 4 sides with water and is therefore less defensible than the island on Vindlandsaga. You start with xtra stores of wood to speed your fishing boat boom.

Land: This is an updated version of the Random Land Set by Mokon - I have added the in game description for the set and fixed the name so it displays as Random Land. Water: Ever feel like playing or practicing on a water map but you want some randomness to it and don't want to have to play 3 or 4 games on Oasis before you draw Anatolia? Well the Random Water Set is the solution to this dilema. The random water set chooses from among the more standard water maps in AOM: Mediterranean, Archipelago, Anatolia, Sea of Worms and Midgard. Slow: Ever wanted to play a game on a different map than the standard 7 but upon picking Random All ended up getting put on one of the standard 7? It can be frustrating. You want something different but you also want the suprise that comes with random. The Random Slow set solves this problem.

This map is an AOM variation of the AOK map Coastal. The map has 3 seperate terrain sets(1 for each civ that also play somewhat differently). The Norse version is sparse on food and starting gold and is the most open of the 3 maps, the Egyptian map starts you with 2 medium sized gold mines, average food and falls in the middle as far as openedness and the Greek map is lush with food and is the most defensive of the 3 maps.

    the point of this thread is to;
1). showcase just about all the projects, which never were showcased before. As you can see, Tsunami Studios hasnt made much showcasing or advertising around age of mythology for a long while. Therefore, me along with the vandhaal thought it would be a good idea to showcase most "forgotten" projects and make some people releaze that Tsunami is still growing as we speak. Should any TS member release more age of mythology project, i'll update the thread.
2). Update towards what has been done at tsunami studios.

    regards

    He Nice job Auron !!
    Nice lay out

Wow you found even some more Tsunami games and stuff...Our team has made even more stuff for AoM then I thought

Indeed our Team does never do much showcasing in general so its a good thing you posted this in order to give the new commers to AoM and AoMH also an idea about what Tsunami is and which Tsunami designer has made stuff for AoM.

    off topic
    @ Spitfire

Say , now you mentioned the word "inactive", I was looking for some scenarios made by you. As you are also a Tsunami member and a long time forummer on all HG sites I would very much like it to play some of your scenarios ( I have already checked out most of the stuff from our other fellow team members)...but i could not find anything.

I also tried to find stuff from you on the other heavens ( AoEH,AoKH, swbgH etc etc) and searched for your Never Winter creations....but all invain...I could only find a small AoK chessgame.

Maybe you used another user or nickname in your submissions ? so I wanted to ask if you prehaps can provide me with some links where I can download your creations ? Thanx in advance

Oh and don't worry about Byz, as you know best he planned to get active again in Aoe3

    on topic again

Again good job Auron....there are still some new projects from Tsunami members under construction like for example Felix Hermanssons final Circe saga scenario ( which will probably be released soon) and the King ( yes the one and only :Jared) has also something up in his sleeve (I won't mention it Jared so you won't get heavy pressure again )

LOL - your 'website delays' have been going on for atleast a year, i'm sure. Even LFS won't take that long

But, yes, great update. I don't think anyone has ever thought TS died though.

By the way, am I missing something? Because I was mislead to believe that TS has got a new site?

With a bit of luck Tsunami will pick up again soon

uhm, hello ben? we've released more than 60+ top rated projects for AoM itself without counting the ones for other RTS games. actually this thread was to prove the opposite, Tsunami has been active regardless of whether we have a site or not, or our forums being inactive.

no luck needed, just as long as our teammates have good skills and keep releasing files, tsunami will become even greater day by day. and i'm just wondering ben, why do you think we've fall behind? is it just because of the fact this has been the latest showcasing we've done in about a year?

No, you won't fool the children of the revolution!

    ....

Anyway, it all sounds very sexy, Auron.

I think we should just clarify to all the naysayers, though, that Tsunami is simply a more layed back team than, say, LFS; we don't hold each other to many restrictions, and we don't pressure each other about deadlines and results and the like. It's just a hobby to us.

Still, though, the website delays are a little ridiculous. Although I really shouldn't be talking, with my own website laying there as it is, half complete for the past 4 months or so.... oh well. My gallery is nearing completion, at least. As in it will be complete today. Later.

    I'll stop talking now.

Wow, are you saying that LFS isn't laid back? That's ridiculous

In fact, LFS is probably the 2nd most laid back team out there (next to TS). It doesn't have blindingly long rules and regulations, it doesn't have a complicated ranking structure, it doesn't require a set of tasks to enter, we don't try to make a 'professional' (i cant even spell it) rep for ourselves, etcetera.
The guys at lfs are pretty much doing what they like; they make the scens, play the scens with eachother or by themselves if its a SP and are free to give feedback on what could be done to make games funner. And if something seems to have stopped being worked on we'll give the maker a little nudge (whip) so they'll remember that they have a half finished project. Hm we even had the front page contain "Innovative bastards since August '04" up until today.

But meh. I can't explain the laidbackness of LFS by writing. You'd have to be in the team to see for yourself.

Hmmm now that I think about it a lot of the members seem to be too laid back...

LOl Rider and Jared you both bring up an important topic: laidbackness

This is maybe a good advice when guys want to start a new design team....: A laid back style is one of the key element for succes LoL ( and it helps to not get insane from editor bugs, freezing triggers, etc etc)

Rider those pics you see above are parts of the new website ...our Ts webdesigner is keeping us hungry for it thats why he taking his time ( he wants to harden us by letting us stay inside the ruins of our old website )....Some time ago he showed us the set up for the Tsunami members area...you can imagine that the entire team was hyped and ready to move in to chill and have some drinks. But he shut the door again and said its not finished ...so only thing left to do for the team was back to the rubble of our old website.

He King, by the way "The Octagon" is a cool name but won't it scare away the woman ?, about pressuring: Its a good thing that Rider has made a new thread for LSA and you know when the pressure gets too big just beep me up and I will send again some Jack which will be deliverd to you by ocean currents

Ok now some more on topic:

I just heard that in this or in the following week another Tsunami designer will release a new AoM TT scenario

    Cheers to all
    Best regards,

That's because I stepped in and forced Rider to forget his ideas of ranking and all that worthless stuff. I think the only team that succeeded in ranks and training etc.. is AD.

Tsunami is a good team but I haven't seen it around during the AoM days. All those files posted up there are very old..nothing in the 'recent months'.

But it's a good team. I'll stick to LFS if Rider finishes the damn site (Damn you Rider, 6 months already!)

    ???

Anyway I ,as a Tsunami member, was amazed by the amount of AoM stuff created by Ts guys.I didn't even know all the stuff untill recently. Personally I think its not a bad job for one design team to make AoM stuff from 2003 uptill 2005...and remeber we are just too laid back so thats why we probably slept through your so called "AoM Days" and totally missed them

what do you call recent months ? last 2 months ? Or ? Lol Time surely flys when something ,18 scenarios big, released on 03/22/05 is considered old stuff..... ....but then again I am a Laid back Tsunami member so for me 6 months is just a short period of time in Rts hobby scenario designing.

And Gaurdian just don't worry...as I mentioned in my previous post....this or next week another Tsunami member will release a new scenario. I am sure you will love it just like you loved the other stuff from this author

well, Tsunami is mostly a group of elite designers where teammates can suggest and help eachother in their individual projects. quite frankly, Tsunami releases mostly individual projects, and some where other members take part, wehther is giving suggestions or playtesting.

@King Jared, The thread is to show the creations made by Tsunami members, and represent our team with your creations and ours. If you wish i can delete off your list of creations.

maybe it has to do with the fact that we dont hang around adverticing or showcasing our team? whether most files were made 4 years ago, what matters is the quality, where as many recent projects released during the past 2 years by other people dont have.

what matters for us is that we are having fun doing what we like. If someone thinks our creations aren't good or old, then thats their problem. We are confident towards eachother's way of designing.

    EDIT:
@The Vandhaal, i didnt mention any projects in the making because i didnt know whehter those authors would like their projects to be named on public
