DragonBlood11 presents....
In cooperation with Yeebaagooon and AoMH...
25 People who Changed AoM: A Tribute to the 25 Most Influential AoM Designers, Scripters, Modders, and Moderators.

With the recent nostalgia rush between the impending release of Ripto, Auron's brief visit, and a few other things I thought now would be the time to do this. I have created a list of 25 past and present AoM Designers, Scripters, Modders, and AoMH Moderators, who changed AoM as we know it. These members come from all different backgrounds and all corners of the globe but one thing they all had in common were they all loved designing and without them the design community would not be the same. Throughout the next 25 days I will be counting down my list of the 25 most influential people in AoM design history. This will also give newer members a chance to learn the names of the person who created those triggers or that utility program that they couldn't design without. So starting July 15, 2009 until August 9, 2009 I will (attempt) to reveal a new name every day followed by a short bio and a little information. Enjoy

NOTE: Newer members do not expect to be on this list. The newest person on this list(as in the one with the most recent join date) is from 2006.

Number One

Name:nottud
Achievements: So many achievements that were thought of as impossible
Bio: nottud joined AoMH in 2005. His first maps included the Pit of Doom, Avenger Race, and many more. nottud soon gained a reputation for finding weird glitches in the editor that designers could use to their advantage. In addition he also began to create RM scripts as well as scenarios. His RM debut was called islands and was basically a map with islands. While nottud had a number of decent scenarios and RMS including Escape 4 Worlds, Ancient Evil RPG, and Magic Floor, his name became big when he released Nottud's complete guide, map, template, etc super pack. It recieved a three 5 star ratings and included random maps, templates, the Complete Age of Mythology Sound List, and much more. Soon afterwards he made it possible to rotate buildings in game, and triggers allowing you to select players 11 and 12. His reputatiom soon began to grow as a skilled scenario design, RM scripter, and trigger creator. He created the Checked terrain type! which did work online and I used in my scenario Color Escape. He then compiled his triggers and editor mods with reyk's and others to create Nottud's Editor Superpack and Nottud's Ultimate Editor Superpack. He has created some widely popular triggers including the Transform trigger, conditional effects, shop triggers, and the Search triggers. He also created the stretch unit templates for eyecandiers. Nottud is also known for making scenarios in random map format such as Mythodea, the highly popular Battle of the Shapeshifters, and Chaos in World RPG, all done through RMS. In nearly 4 years nottud's reputation changed from that of an average scenario designer, to a legend and a master of all trades. His various skills and talents changed Age of Mythology and his editor mods took scenario design to a whole other level. It is nottud's jack of all trades style, his epic triggers and random maps, and finally his fun and innovative scenarios that make nottud one of the most influential designers of all time. Without nottud I wouldn't be here right now also so an ode to the boy with a mad imagination.

Kai Hirogashi did the same thing to Cirrow (and posted exactly like you, come to think) and got shot down by him, to soon ask for a self-ban.
James,
you have no idea how incredibly stupid you sound.
annoying douche

I never asked for this.

What you fail to realise is that there are mature forumers amongst yourself that do not wish to be foul mouthed. It is rather hard to come to terms with forumers like yourself...unfortunately you have the brain of an adolescent child none the less. Remorse my little friend...

Everyone from the HOV go back to the LPW. This place has not been tainted by your spam.

Cirrow, you've made your point now.
Hook, stop trying to make yourself look good by trying to be a backseat moderator. Even worse, don't ever post something like that and then go on to post 'lolz look at me im so great' in the LPW.

Time to get back on topic. It will be difficult to get all facts right, but bear with Dragon, he's put a lot of effort into this.

I think Cirrow's thread in MA will be topped soon.

I wasn't around to see Socvacius here, so I was clueless as to why he was part of the list until Alex explained.

Speaking of forum parties, I think they were going on regularly a few months ago. Why did they stop?

Soz. Posting at 2 in the morning makes me kind of edgy.

Btw, while i was being a backseat moderator, i was only telling TNO that he shouldn't be one as well.

Kai, your smurf needs to disappear really fast. Friendly suggestion.

SO let's change the subject here... Let's speculate who it'll be today! PaPaya? Nottud? THE MUSHROOM?

Number Seventeen

Name:FC_Nidhogg
Achievements: Numerous critically acclaimed scenarios, Pioneer of the RPG scenario
Bio: FC_Nidhogg joined AoMH in June of 2004. He soon released his first scenario entitled Cat and Mice Erebus. Cat and Mice Erebus was followed by Flags, Sunlight RPG, Flags V2, Line Wars Version 2, and, with the help of his design team ArchSyndicate (another now dead incredible design team), the Summoners of Yggrdasil. Following The Summoners of Yggdrasil, FC_Nidhogg and ArchSyndicate released a string of highly acclaimed scenarios including Line Wars Versions 3 & 4, Persona RPG, Persona RPG 2, Marathon of Doom, Defend Your Castle, Fly By Night, and Troy. In 2006 FC_Nidhogg along with Jakwarrior released Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, often considered one of the greatest RPG scenarios ever created. Following Final Fantasy, FC_Nidhogg disappeared and ArchSyndicate died. FC_Nidhogg is remembered as one of the most influential designers of all time because of his innovation in the RPG scenario genre and leading arguebly the greatest design team in the history of scenario design.

P.S. SwordofValor and Yeebaagooon have both been a huge help with this list and I give them my thanks.

Thanks. Another recap of a person I'd almost forgotten about It trobules me that I've played few of these scenarios though.

Btw one thing that I'm worrying about in these recaps is that you're using a lot of hyperbole, e.g. claimming that this scenario is the best ever, then claiming another scenario is the best ever. We are only at number 17; by the time you finish we will have a LOT of "Best ever" scens You've even said that both Purple People AND ArchDesigner are the best team ever!

Also, I hope you don't forget about the modders of AOM!

Have to say I agree with Inazuma, the hyperbole sort of undermines the validity of what you are saying. Purple and ArchD can't both be the greatest in the history of ES scenario design. Personally, I wouldn't say either were. They don't come close to the prestige and triumphs of SCN Punk, Tsunami, Ambition and LFS, and i'm a member of PDS and I can admit that.

Alex's earlier statement highlights the point i'm trying to make. I would have been advisable to consult oldies in the community who were there and knew these designers and the era. Mouse Overlord wasn't a 'pioneer' of the RPG genre, he was more of a prolific contributor to multiplayer RPG.

I think this is the first person on the list I don't agree with, or should have been at 25. I'm noticing a tendency to promote multiplayer releases as being the most influential, and whilst these are great and extremely fun to play they often don't really compare to the creativity, innovation and overall influence of the singleplayer section and indeed the mod section.

Just my thoughts.

FC_Nidhogg was amazing.
He was like dumbledore to me, and when I found the Archdesigner Syndicate, that was like Hogwarts.
Sorry for the terrible comparison, I was like 13 at the time.
Basically the ArchDesigner syndicate was the most amazing place in the world to me, there were are these older, amazing designers inhabiting the forums and I felt so honored to be there. FC_Nidhogg, alone made AS the best design team forum I've ever been on. I tried to recreate the amazingness of AS with Spirit Studios, and I can only hope I gave the newer members of my studio the same feeling I felt when I found AS.

Anyway. I think Niddy should have been somewhere around number 8, right around Archeopotrix. Oh well.
And the debate about the designs teams...
PDS was active for a bit, then it went inactive. Though it still exists. They did accomplish a lot but it was just like a dead forum with things going on in the background. Especially since PPE went ot military school or something.
Ambition designs, even I wasn't around when it first open. I remember that's where Niddy came from. All I remember is I applied the second time it reopened, and I didn't get accepted, then the team failed.

This list is in no specific order.

I remember playing Person RPG V2, it was a great game all those years ago. Line wars was great too. Final Fantasy used to be one of my favourites too .
